Question about Motorcycles
No oil pressure
MY 1995 1340 evo roadking oil light stays on at idle when the engine is hot, I've chenged the oil and filter using genuine harley davidson, changed the oil pressure switch and even done a full engine flush with 4 litres of flush oil which as made the oil light stay on until 1200 RPM's, before i flushed the system the light would go off at a round 1000/1100 rmp's.

The fork oil is a very specific job needing a manual and a special tool, I don't want to insult anyones mechanical knowledge but if you have never done it before, best to take somewhere else. Engine oil on the other hand is easy, the drain tube to any softail is on the right side by where the frame meets the swing arm, has somekind of plug in it. Start and run bike for a little while, long enough to get it warm but not hot. Remove fill plug and then remove plug in drain line. Using a peice of cardboard or something put in between filter and frame , directing the oil to your drain pan instead of where ever it goes. Put 1 qt oil back in (after everything is reinstalled) start the bike and make sure the oil light goes out, when it does shut bike off and fill to the point that when it is standing upright you get a little oil on the tip of your finger, over filling may result in loss of oil cap from pressure (been there)

Inspection nut is on left side of engine in case between cyclinders.Right with the motor number boss.Allen head I believe.Take it out, hook up timing light in regular way, just like car.Use good light, expensive one because you need bright light to see mark good.Point light at hole an you'll see slot goes n/s across hole.Move distributer/points plate an slot will move right to left and rpm's will go up/down.Middle of hole is dead on.To right of hole is advance,I believe, rpm's will tell you. You're only talking bout 2 or 3 dregrees.Past center to right to edge of hole is 2 or 3 advance,I think, rpms will increase, not much to it.Good luck.
