I do a lot of small engine repairs, and commonly when the fuel is cut on and the carb starts to leak, your float is stuck open. you said that it has been sitting for a while., How long? Over a period of a couple months, condensation will start to build up in your tank and carb float bowl, with this happening it starts to build up corrosion and electrolysis. To fix this problem :: 1 drain your tanke completely. 2 remove the carb float bowl from one or both carbs ( however many your bike has) ((DON'T LOSE THE GASKET) 3 carefully remove the pin holding the float in, and when you remove it be careful, there is another little pin with a rubber tip attached to the float 4 clean them thoroughly, pins and float, 5 clean inside float housing 6 Reassemble, carefully in exact order you took it apart. 7 fill tank with fresh gas and add 2 ounces of STABIL water remover and fuel treatment. This should fix your problem.. Let me know how it goes

Cant set idle

if the carbs need to be synced or if there is a leak in the intake the idle will not be able to be set correctly. Sync the carbs off of the #1 carb which is the carb to the far left while sitting on the bike.

I have a fuel leak on the left carby the bike has been siting for a while drain fuel and put new fuel do they have nedle and seat

Check the float and float valve in the left carb.
If it was left sitting on the side stand, that float bowl would have been pretty full, and is likely stuck open.
You can try spraying some carb cleaner through it, but chances are you'll at least have to remove the float bowl and clean the parts really well.

79 pontiac firebird with fuel leek.

If it is leaking fuel there are most likely 2 issues, one check the float level, 2, the air horn is warped or the body of the carb is warped, done 100's and these are the only issues I have ever seen.
