Hard starting when cold

When this motorycle is cold it is very hard to start. I have had the best luck when twisting the throttle once and then kicking it through with the compression release on for about 10 kicks. Then I get it up on compression, and kick it. Most of the time it will not start with the enrichener on.

it is no possible, your bike has a higth compression engine, how much is your weigth, you must kick it very hard. I think to use the enrichener for 2 or 3 kicks, if more you can flooded

U must check the valves, very important. clean your carb, change your oil, clean your air filter, change your spark plug one number lower than u are using now because the lower the number on the plug the its stays hotter longer, people make the mistake of thinking the lower the number the hotter the plug burns, wrong your a rookie if u think like this. i no for a fact u didnt do all of these yet, so do these exact things i told u and you'll be fine trust me.

2002 kawasaki VN 750 Vulcan hard to start when cold

Hi, Gd2bbahun I would take it back to the dealer and have them fix it properly or ask for a refund and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel cap or fuel tank is not venting properly.
2. Fuel filter clogged.
3. Fuel line pinched or kinked.
4. Vacuum line from the petcock to intake manifold cracked.
5. Float needle and seat sticking.
6. Float level too low.
7. Carburetor bowl vent line clogged/blocked/pinched.
8. Idle adjusting screw set too low.
9. Air/fuel mixture screw set too lean.
10. Idle port, transfer ports, slow air jet clogged.
11. Slow fuel jet clogged.
12. Faulty fuel pump.

Kawasaki Brute Force 650 4x4i atv 2007 cold start problem seems to flood when trying to start. Once it starts runs like a champ and restarts no problem

Install new spark plugs and go easy on the throttle when starting. A power valve squirts extra gas every time the throttle is twisted. Twist too often when starting and the engine floods. Please rate my answer. Thanks!

Bought 2004 Kawasaki klx 125 and takes 20-30 kicks to start with choke on and even more when cold. Won't run right until motor warms up n takes a while for it to warm up. Runs fine after it does but it's...

Be certain the battery is in good condition. Install a new spark plug. Clean the carb and air filter. Use the throttle sparingly. The carb has a power valve that gives an extra shot of gas each time the throttle is twisted. Too many twists and the engine floods out. Please rate my answer. Thanks!

Clean the carb. Bear in mind that a new carb costs $1300 or so. Don't drop it. Install fresh spark plug, NGK R CR8E. Get a new air filter. Be sure the battery is in good condition. Don't twist the throttle more than once when cold. Not at all when it is warm. A power valve in the carb squirts gas into the cylinder with every twist. Flooding with gas is quick and easy on this bike.

Why is my 2010 klx hard to start when it is warm?

You probably twist the throttle a few times when trying to start it. A power valve squirts extra gas into the cylinder on each twist. The engine then floods and becomes hard to start.

04 crf450.hard start when cold(25deg).kick for 10min.once it

1. First thing is when was the last time you had your valves adjusted
2. On cold start up twist about 15 times on your throttle, as you do that the accelerator pump in carb will shot gas in cylinder, I have a 2003 yx426 & 2005 yz450 have to do to both of them when cold out to get started

Hard to start lawn tractor

I have 2009 lawn tractor that will not start (from day 1) unless I use a small squirt
of start fluid into the air cleaner area. Nothing else seems to work. The battery will run down before it starts. Once engine is warm it starts great. Love the tractor,
hate the starting problem. Elevation is not a problem in michigan.
