I have got a mk2 fiat Punto 51 plate. When I have passengers in the back or some weight in the back I keep getting a banging or clamming noise. I have checked the exhaust to see if it was rubbing on rear axle and hand break cable but both are fine. I have had new shock absorbers to see if that was the problem but problem still there. I've been told it could be the bushes on the back but then I've been told there isn't any bushes on the back. Can anyone help please

SOURCE: passenger side wiper stopes working linkage arm

I had this problem about 18 months ago. I took it to a garage and was advised that the entire wiper motor and linkage arms needed to be replaced quoting approx. £175.00. Instead I took it home, took it all apart and found a washer that was slightly too small to fit on the end of the ball, hit it hard with a hammer thus jamming it on. It hasn't come off once since. Total cost approx. £0.30 and 30 minutes of my own time...
