Hey all. I would like to thank the bike expert's and mechanic's for all the helpfull hints and suggestions. I believe I may have found the problem. I think it may be that the Ignitor Unit i.e. CDI Box have packed up therefore that there is no electrical power on the ignition etc, I have tested all fuses i.e. Starter relay etc. I have found that the culprit is the CDI Unit. Went to Craig's 2nd Hand Parts in Maitland couldn't find a CDI Unit. Can a CDI Unit be repaired if it is a ''sealed'' Unit or Not ?????? Sorry that I only reply now or only sayin thank you now. FixYa is the best. Keep up the good work and the great Info and Tips. You guy's rock !!!!!!!

Is this part 2 of another posting - check that one out for half the answer

the fan is supposed to come on when the engine gets too hot - so let it go - no need to stop the engine - usually it will go off - once you get moving at a decent speed

yes, suzukis have a clutch saftey switch and won't start without being drepressed all the way in. time to replace the clutch cable. if u know which wires go to switch u can put a jumper between the 2 to the main harness, not to the handle.

check the wiring - to the ignition switch and the kill switch --and follow ant other wires that lead from the ignition switch - look for broken or bare wires - or burnt wires - sone bikeshave the ignition wired to the side stand - check this connection at the side stand - a little plunger - it may be stuck or not moving correctly - some are also wired to the clutch - check here as well -

Intermittent loss of electrics on st1300 pan european abs model 2005

Hi, Andy and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, should have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary your battery may have a cursory reading of 12.5 volts or more but has little or zero amperage and needs to be replaced AGM types more so than lead acid batteries.
2. Faulty alternator/generator and or voltage regulator.
3. Loose or corroded battery terminals and or cables especially the "NEGATIVE" cable, look for loose, corroded, or broken connectors inside the cable harness at "BOTH" ends.
4. Faulty main circuit breaker or ignition switch, check for loose connections and continuity.
5. Faulty system and or ignition relay, check for continuity.
6. Faulty ignition coil, ignition/electronic module.
7. Faulty CKP, CPS, CMP, MAP, TPS, or BAS sensor, corroded, loose or broken wire connector pins/sockets.

Bike will not start, have lights, etc., no sounds at all, happened several times before, took to dealer they could not find anything wrong, bike was returned to me, started and ran fine, now it has...

Might be a faulty side stand lockout switch. They're subject to a lot of wear, tear and grime and tend to wear out. So your bike thinks the side stand is down when it isn't locking your bike out so it won't start. Failing that it may be a faulty neutral switch, again the bike doesn't know it is in neutral so doesn't start.
I am going to state the obvious also, is your main kill switch turned on?

Bike dropped on left side now neutral light doesnt come on and i cant start bike without clutch when bike is in neutral. is there a switch or something that triggers light and controls ignition

You didn't say what year model or size of your bike, but most have a neutral safety switch and a side kickstand safety switch. When you dropped it, it probably effected the operation of the switch.

I lost my operators manual for my 2ooo suzuki intruder 800. only rode 2x in 2000. now forgotten how to start it. only has 300 miles on it and before i sell it would like to ride it once more. please help...

Starting should be accomplished by pressing the starter button with the clutch pulled in, bike in neutral, and choke on. If starting in gear, the sidestand will need to be retracted (up) as well as clutch lever pulled in.
Unfortunately, if the bike has not been used in 10 years, you may have other problems that will cause it not to start, i.e. dead battery, bad fuel, gummed up carburetors, or faulty switches to name a few.
Hope this helps.

Are all wires clean and with a solid connections? Check the loom. Any abraded wires? Check the operation of the ignition switch with a volt ohmmeter. Is the bike in neutral and the neutral light is lit up? If no neutral light, check the neutral switch and neutral switch wire on center casing. DickCanFixIt asked good questions. What are the answers?

Please rate this solution. Thanks
