This is a common problem with chinese products. Typically it is the stator. The black/red wire from the stator will have a very low resistance (1-2 ohms) or no resistance (open) circuit. The best way to check is with a "peak reading" volt meter. This wire(usually black/red) to ground should produce +- 180 DC volts on the meter at cranking speed. Good luck.

You need to first determine whether the problem is fuel or electrical. Remove the sparkplug and pour in a small quantity of gas. Replace sparkplug and high tension lead. Crank it over. If it does start and run a bit then your problem is fuel and not electrical. If it does not fire and the sparkplug is wet, then start be replacing the sparkplug with a new one.

Have a yamaha 4 wheeler Kodiac will not start, will fire but no gas

Take the carb to Honda up in Sumter. If you pull it, and break it down yourself, they only charge $25 to put it in their sonic cleaner. You might also want to think about pulling the tank, clean it out, then cut your fuel line, and put a small inline fuel filter on it. On the fuel line, look for a location to cut that the filter can easily fit the filter(usually midway from the shut off valve, and the carb.

Why would a suzuki 4-wheeler not start. I have

Did you change the fuel filter? Is there a way to confirm that you're getting gasoline to the carburetor? If it fired once it should mean that you have spark to the plugs but there could also be a short in the kill switch circuitry that kills the ignition system. Pull a spark plug and put it in the spark plug wire socket, ground it against the motor and crank the engine and see if you're getting a good spark. Ensure that the air filter isn't dirty.

The Sunl's are notorious for the stator going out. Check with your dealer for specs on testing the stator. It could also be the CDI unit too! I hope this helps
