SOURCE: 95 model thunderbird, runs great until idle, cuts

The pick-up coils fail sometimes but usually lead to a complete failure
Before just replacing parts u can eliminate some suspects ie kill switch, clutch switch & ignition switch by bridging
Also check that there isnt a spark jumping from an HT lead or plug cap

Why wont my 95 thunderbird stay running after five mins

I would look towards the ignition module. It is what fires the injectors, you can have spark but a no run situation because of no fuel injectors.

95 thunderbird backfiring through air intake

Something like this is often a stuck or poorly sealing valve. A Vacuum gauge is the least obtrusive way to notice vacuum changes. If a cylinder fails to seal, vacuum will reflect the loss of compression and it will result in a bounce on the meter.

My 1991 Ford Thunderbird won't start.

Please do not take offense, but your description of your problem is extremely vauge.Does the starter turn the motor over?Does the engine try to fire?(Coughs, sputters etc...)Help me help you.An internal combustion engine will run as long as it has air, fuel and fire. What exactaly is your car NOT doing? Also include any major changes in recent weather patterns that may contribute to your problem(no detail is too small,be specific).Thanks.

95 ford thunderbird has been sitting for about 2 yrs. engine will turnover but will not crank. suggestions

i would be inclined to empty fuel tank and put fresh petrol in and then try it again ,try starting it with a ether spray in the air intake and see if it will fire up because once engine warms up a bit it will run on the old fuel so you drive to a garage and fill it up with some fresh fuel

95 model thunderbird, runs great until idle, cuts out no spark bike starts again when it feels like it. when idling engine randomly miss fires as if you were flicking the kill switch on and off quickly....

95 Ford T-Bird Doesn't Always Start

I had the same problem and it left me stranded and my wife several times. The only part that gives the signal to the tach also gives the signal to your ignition. Change out the crank position sensor, mounted on the lower right front of the engine by the A/C compressor. You will need to loosen up the compressor and move it out of the way, but in all roughly about a 2 hour job depending how much the compressor fights ya.
