MY SKIDOO WAS RUNNING I HIT THE KILL SWITCH AND NOW IT WONT START AND HAS NO SPARK WHAT SHOULD I DO

On most of the ones I've seen the kill switch just grounds out the spark, killing the engine. Make sure that for some reason the kill switch isant remaining grounded out.

WELL A COUPLE THINGS IT IS INDUCTIVE IGNITION TCI YES SPARKS DO AND ARE SUPPOSE TO SPARK ONCE WHEN POWERING THE SYSTEM ON NORMAL BUT IF NO POWER ON ACCELERATION YOU MIGHT HAVE A IGNITOR PROBLEM OR WRONG SPARK PLUGS CHECK TO MAKE SURE WIRES ARE GOOD THE FUEL IS FLOWIG PROPELY AND THAT COIL WIRES SARE GOOD THE SAFTY SWITCHES THEN ALL GOOD YUO HAVE BAD TCI?BLACK BOX

i have never heard of it not shutting down when the plug cap is pulled.... but clean your carb.... its probably just a stuck float or something really easy to do

if the diaphram is in poor condition as you say, it will need a new one.
if there is an air leak though the diaphram it can cause the symptoms you describe

Pull Cord Stops...


could be valve needs set. if it isn't opening at the right time it wont release compression for it to start. it may be the shear key in the flywheel has sheared if you have hit something like a big rock or log or something causing it to die suddenly.

My craftsman 25cc leaf blower wont start


pull the plug, plug into wire, touch head of plug to metal on engine. hold by rubber boot while touching pull starter, see if you get a spark across the plug gap, its small but you can see it. if no spark check switch. if plenty of spark clean fuel system and check primer

Your problem may be in the kill switch. To check, spray some starting fluid into carburator directly and pull start. If it sputter runs for a few seconds then dies chances are the kill switch is choking engine trottle as a built in safety feature. If you have to hold a bar down while pulling cord, that disengages the switch. You should be able to see if cord extends. If it's kinked I would replace the entire cable. It's cheap and relatively easy, just pay attention to how you take the old one off. B&S engines are very basic and very easy to fix.

Check for spark, fuel. Is the kill switch in the run position?
If you have spark spray a tiny bit of starter fluid into the carb and it should hit.
If it does hit you have a fuel problem

Wont start


The shear key may be compromised or the air filter is clogged shut. if you hit something with the mower (it doesn't take much) the shear key may get distorted which changes the timing enough to make it hard or impossible to start, it can drive you crazy but a .79 part will ruin you whole weekend.

hard to mow a lawn pulling the starter cord all the time,lol,,,ok, no spark...you have an engine control bar at top of handle, cable runs from it to engine brake, and this is also engine kill switch. sounds like this cable has stretched. this cable controls engine brake and also kills the spark. you have two problems, and this controls both.

I have a Toro GT 5 6.5 hp Tecumseh model #Lev 120 and it just quit. Checked everything. Good fire,turns over good but have a kickback while it's cranking. Everything else is working. Is there a wire...


Sounds like the blade hit something solid when it was running & then it had problems soon thereafter. It may have sheared the flywheel key & is not firing at about 7 degrees before (TDC) top dead center. Pull out the plug & put your thumb tightly over the spark plug hole to feel for compression as you slowly rotate the blade or pull on the starter cord. About 7 degrees before TDC is when you should get a spark. Maybe you can download a repair manual for it or have a friendly repair shop tell you when it is supposed to fire the plug.You may have to pull off the shroud over the pull cord/flywheel to see where the magnets are at TDC. I had this happen to my Lawn Boy after my grand son used the mower. A $3.00 new key solved the problem BUT it was a pain to take the top covers off. apart
