Question about 2004 Sym Husky 125

1 Answer

Motorcycle engine stalls when cold.

This problem is not for the husky 125 but for VS 125 (it's not in the list) I'm having troubles to start my scooter. When it finally keeps running and I use the throttle, then it stalls. But then I'm able to get it started and keep it running. But when I need to stop somewhere, for example at a red light, it stalls again. I need to use the throttle while standing still for preventing the engine to stall. This keeps on for allmost 10 minutes, after that it runs smoothly. (it's hot enough then I guess) I found something similar on this site: http://www.fixya.com/motorcycles/t1298567-hard_starting_when_cold_runs_rough_idle Will this also solve my problem? I tried adjusting the idle speed a little bit, but then it runs fast when the engine is hot enough. I've adjusted the air adjustment screw (it was 1/2 turn at first) I changed it to 1 1/2 turns. But it had no effect. I have the same problem with the Euro MX 125

This problem also happens with the euro mx 125. ( 2004). I have changed the coil, ht lead, spark plug and als the cdi unit.

Thanks for that. I will try that spark plug. The problem seems to be a lot worse when it is eithe very damp, or windy and raining.

It needs a new spark plug for a start.
I would also advise a new air filter.

U need a hot plug. Most plugs have a number eg: bpr8es NGK.
You need a 9. This runs hotter at startup.
Playing with the airscrew will only cause you to use more fuel or lose power.

Buy some ignition sealer spray from a car parts shop as well.
Spray the coil and HT lead as well.
This is a bad time of year for those problems.
The water from the front wheel doesn`t help.
    Have fun

Yes, sounds like your battery is no good. How old is the battery? did you take it out and store it inside if you live where its cold? Battery's no good if it froze.

How to put a cr 125 motor together

WOW!!!!

Your best bet is to goto a Husky dealer and get a manual.

No way I could tell you hear step by step what to do to get it right.

I have raced Huskys since 1982, but to tell someone online what to do to put an engine together would be allmost impossible.

Sym husky compatible engines

Why not fix the original engine? What went wrong? Aside from that, try googling " motorcycle salvage Sym Husky " and just " Sym Husky ". A couple of bikes are for sale on the 2nd one. I don't know of any model compatabilitys.
