Are there any codes? Does it shift ok in 1st and 2nd? sounds like your over drive shift solenoid or your 3 and 4 shift solenoid is stuck and needs to be replaced

sounds like first gear is shot.if so you got three choices one is to take to trans. shop ,repair yourself,or buy used trans and do a fast swap.

The shift solenoid is stuck. The lever is moving, but its not making the gears to shift.First check the shift solenoid, if its stuck / worn out cracked.It has to be replaced.Also check the brake light switch.
The brake light switch has alot to do with being able to shift from park since the sensor sends a signal telling the system that the brake pedal is being pressed and to allow you to shift from park. --
There is a small cable attached to the ignition switch that unblocks the gear shift. When this cable gets loose or broken it does not unblock the gear shift, causing it to get stuck.---
