Question about Yamaha Motorcycles
Xjr 1300 , when engines running and the lights are off , no oil light appears, turn on the lights and the oil light comes on ?
Just sorted my problem with oil light coming on when lights are switched on. Removed the back off the clocks and realised there was a missing oil light bulb, and the holder was out of place. It was the light from the dash light coming through the hole for the oil light which made it look like the oil light was lit. put new bulb into oil light holder and all back in place everything now working 100%. Happy days !!! Hope this helps

This happens every time you first turn the bike on, just before you hit the start switch, right? That's normal...your bike has a "brain" that goes through a systems check when you turn the key.

The rear brake stoplight switch will have un-adjusted itself. Find the stoplight switch which is near the rear brake fluid reservoir just aft of the right hand side panel. The black plastic adjustment nut is on top of the switch body. Turn the nut clockwise until the brake light comes on when the footbrake pedal is depressed.
