I got my oil changed about 2 1/2 weeks ago and about a week ago my car started running rough, i attributed it to maybe a tankful of bad gas. this morning the engine was knocking and i made a mental note to check oil. on my way home from work, the oil light came on and i stopped at a gas station immediately, (luckily i was at a corner where there was one). the dipstick read NO oil at all!! so i put in 5 quarts and the oil light has still not shut off. it is knocking but not as bad. my question is if they did not put oil in my car or something was not sealed tightly( filter or bolt) wouldnt i have blown my engine by now? i drive ALOT. and the other thing is shouldnt i have seen a puddle of oil if it is a leak? PLEASE HELP

How long did you drive the car when you noticed the low oil light came on? Also if it was the oil drain plug (wasn't skrewed on correctly) it probably leaked slowly. If you have a blown engine you wouldn't be able to drive the car at all. There might be some internal damage in the engine if you still hear knocking.

I would go back on the oil change place, but based on past experience u will have to most likely sue them to get them to fix your engine, which by the way is toast as we say in the business.

I had Walmart give me an ambassador package oil change years ago on a grand am and the nimrods never tightened the filter and the same thing happened to me. Even though I put oil in the engine seized within 48 hrs. Good luck! Get your documents ready because whether or not your engine fails you will still want to sue the oil replacement service worker for subsequent damages due to negligence.

Why is my truck misfiring/running poorly/rough idle

The old gas thing isn't good, but this seems pretty extreme unless the gas was visibly bad. Did you examine or filter it when you siphoned it to be sure it had no visible water or contaminants? Anyway, its certainly worth exploring before going farther. Make sure its got clean fresh fuel. Otherwise, maybe timing belt / chain trouble?

2006 Cadillac cts is burning gas faster than the normal rate after i got an oil change at jiffy lube 2 weeks ago

I dont think there is a connection between an oil change and the gallons per mile.
With that age car, I suggest a Terra engine clean. It will blow away nine years of gunk from the spark plugs, fuel injectors, cylinders and exhaust. Should give you more power, more miles..

Engine runs very rough

if is runnig the PCM is not the problem, change the coil pack or the crancshaft position sensor.
the PCM is very expensive(500+) but they hardly go bad. PCM(power control mudule)

Idle flucutation rough take off in 1st and 2nd gear

The spark plug leads in these cars are notoriously bad. I would change them without hesitation just for maintenance if nothing else, but I bet it solves your problem.

Could be your Mas Air Flow sensor or MAF sensor to some people.

Shaking badly

My '97 F-150 started doing the same thing a few weeks ago. Took it to the Ford garage yesterday. They found a bad spark plug wire and because of that, a bad plug also. Have you had it tuned-up lately?
