How to remove pulsar 180 headlight

I had a small incident on my brand new bike. I ended up scratching the headlight and the plastic part around it (as well as myself). Would like to know how to disassemble this particular part so i can fix it myself. Thanks

If the bike runs then Top Dead Center (TDC) is not an issue. But to check piston stroke position, Remove the valve cap cover on the intake of the front cylinder. Remove both the spark plugs. Rotate the crank shaft untill the rocker arm starts to move. The piston is now starting down on the intake stroke. Rotate the crank further and the rocker arm moves in the opposite direction. The piston is now going upward on the compression stroke. Look at the marks on the flywheel. Rotate the crank untill the TDC mark lines up with the timing index mark. The front piston is now at TDC.

If your model has carbs then the backfire fix requires you to syncronize and balance the carbs.
SYNCHRONIZE THE CARBS
Remove the air filter and rubber fittings to allow you to see into the throat of both carbs. You may need a mirror to see inside. You need to be able to see the slides go up and down when you twist the throttle. Now turn the fitting where the cable goes into each carb such that there is just a bit of slack in the cable, 1/16" is plenty. Lock ONE of the cable adjusters down tight. All further adjustments will be made on the other carb.

With the motor turned off twist the throttle very slowly while looking at the slides. Both slides need to begin lifting at the exact same moment. If the slides don't raise at the exact same time then slowly twist the throttle until the locked adjuster slide just barely starts to move. Hold the throttle still and turn the adjuster on the other carb so that the slide on that carb just barely starts to move also. Now recheck the slide movement timing. Do this process until the slides on both carbs begin to raise at the EXACT same moment. Lock down the loose adjuster and re-check the slides.

BALANCE THE CARBS
Turn the throttle screw on the LEFT carb one half turn inward. Now start the engine and get it warmed up. With the engine running, remove the RIGHT spark plug wire. Adjust the idle speed on the left carb to the point where the engine just can't quite stay running and dies. Now put the loose spark plug wire back into place.

Now turn the throttle screw on the RIGHT carb one half turn inward. Restart and rev the engine. Next, remove the LEFT spark plug wire. Adjust the idle speed on the right carb to the point where the engine just can't quite stay running and dies. Now put the loose spark plug wire back into place.

Turn the idle screw on each carb EXACTLY ONE QUARTER turn outward and restart the engine. The engine will be probably be idling very fast. Adjust both the idle screws equally from this point to get to the desired idle speed. Congratulations, you have just balanced and synchronized your carbs.

It costs around 800.... but with fitting charges costs u around 900....

better go for a non branded which will be similar to the original costs around 400 or so... because u may not be knowing when it may gets scratches or breaks... Just think.....

2010 Bajaj Pulsar 180 will not start


Hi, Vinod before testing any electrical component in the starter circuit you must have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or better and able to pass a "LOAD" test because your battery may have 12.5 volts but little or zero amps and the battery must be replaced.
A motorcycle starter relay is an electronic mechanical switch that has a small coil winding around a piece of metal that requires low amperage and thin wires to be activated. When you turn on your ignition switch power 12 volts is sent to the relay coil which in turn becomes a magnetic contact point that pulls a spring-loaded contact point to itself completing an electrical circuit that allows more amperage necessary to be accessed by the starter solenoid which in turn acts in the same way as the relay but on a larger scale with its stronger heavier contacts making available the necessary amperage to turn the starter motor. If your battery has low voltage it, in turn, makes the magnetic contact point weak in trying to pull its counterpart to make a connection. These relays are usually encased in a plastic housing that may or may not be sealed depending on the quality of the product. When activated they will produce a small amount of heat to their metal components which in turn can create the perfect environment for condensation to form depending on weather conditions and how careless you may be with a water hose or sprayer while washing your bike. After a period of time, several months to several years depending on the circumstances this condensation is the starter button for electrolysis and the slow build up of corrosion which ends by preventing the magnetic contacts in making a solid connection and alerts you to this situation with the customary greeting "CLICK". The relay is inexpensive and needs to be replaced however in a pinch they can be forcibly opened cleaned and resealed with silicone. In a nutshell, motorcycle starter relays take in low amperage and send out higher amperage when activated and for curious minds, the voltage remains constant at whatever your battery reads at the time.

2007 Bajaj Pulsar 180 will not shift


Hi, Hitesh if you take your bike to a dealer for a specific issue that costs outrageous amounts of money only to have the same problem 2 days later your situation is not unique unfortunately and it is a double-edged sword. First, you suffer the emotional stress and frustration of spending all your hard earned "Drachma" and your bike does not get fixed. Second, comes the realization that not only are the technicians incompetent but also the service manager for not doing anything about it, this isn't rocket science, it's a glorified lawn mower engine with extra cylinders and carburetors sometimes. You need to put an end to all the double talk, dancing around the issue, and a "we don't care attitude", but how you ask, very simple you exercise the "nuclear option" go back to the dealer and ask to speak to the owner or general manager if the owner is not there, then with a straight face and polite voice you ask him/her if they can provide you with the name and contact phone number of the person at your brand motorcycle headquarters in your country that can recommend a repair facility that will fix your bike because your local dealer either can not or will not. I guarantee you that is all the grease you need to get someone to light a fire under the proper persons rear end to resolve your issue "toot sweet"

What is the cost of pulsar 150 cc headlight dome?
