SOURCE: where is the air/fuel mixture scrue?

i'm not too familiar with dirtbikes but my experience with street bikes it has been on the underside of the carbs and if stock it is typically covered by a brass plug. this plug is just there to satisfy the epa you need to drill it out but be careful the screw is directly underneath the plug so as soon as you break thru pull back then use a screw to extract the plug. hope this is the answer you are looking for.

SOURCE: how do u adjust the

Turn the fuel mixture screw clockwise to a soft seat, do not force it closed. Then back it out 3 turns for the factory setting. If you have aftermarket pipes or air intakes you will need to rejet the carb.
I hope this helps.

Could be a combo of all. Replace your spark plugs sync carbs, and run it to see how it responds before you mess with the mixtures. Also check for any vacuum leaks. Hope this helps.

Adjust air fuel mixture

Hi Wentzpatrick, on the right hand side of the carburator there is an idle adjusting screw with a spring behind it, turn screw clockwise to increase idle counter clockwise to decrease idle. There is also an air/fuel mixture screw inside a carb body lug that may or may not be plugged with an aluminum cap that's about 3/16" thick. This cap can be drilled out to acess the air/fuel mixture screw. Turning screw clockwise will lean out mixture and lower idle, turning screw counter clockwise will richen mixture and raise idle. You need to balance the two adjusting screws to obtain an idle of 950-1000 RPM then back out air/fuel mixture screw 1/4 turn, snap throttle to confirm responce, you may continue to back out air/fuel mixture screw untill desired throttle responce is achieved, if you see black smoke coming out of exhaust you have gone to far and need to turn screw back in 1/8 turn at a time. Good luck.

Adjust air fuel mixture

Hi, Anonymous the carburetor throttle shaft wheel has two cables the cable closest to the right side of the bike is the throttle cable and the one closest to the left side is the idle cable. Right about the middle between the two is the idle adjustment bolt it faces out towards the air filter end of the carb . The engine should be at operating temperature with the enrichener off to set the idle between 950-1050 rpm. Turn the idle adjustment bolt clockwise to increases idle speed and counterclockwise to decrease idle speed. If you have access to your air fuel mixture bolt you may adjust it as well if not there is a video below on how to gain access, make sure you start with clean or new spark plugs. Gently turn the air fuel mixture bolt clockwise until it starts to bottom out "STOP" do not over tighten as it will damage the taper on the end, now back it out 2 full turns to establish a starting point start the engine and check the idle rpm's and adjust the idle adjustment bolt accordingly for 950-1050 rpm if necessary, adjust the air fuel mixture bolt 1/4 turn at a time and let the engine settle for about 10 seconds, clockwise for a leaner mixture and counterclockwise for a richer mixture you are seeking the highest rpm your air fuel mixture bolt can acquire without going past 3 full turns from bottom then readjusting the idle adjustment bolt back down to 950-1050 rpm If you can not detect any rpm change and can not stall the engine by turning the air-fuel mixture bolt all the way in then your pilot/low-speed jet is too big. Final adjustment should be made with a clean air filter mounted to the carburetor. Need to know which adjustments on carb are for what results.

Generally there are 3 adjustments depending on the model. An idle speed screw that controls the idle rpm of the saw, the idle mixture screw that controls the air/fuel ratio at idle speed as well as "throttle up", and the high speed mixture screw that controls the air/fuel ratio for top engine rpm. The mixture screws will usually be identified on by a "L" and "H". Hope this answers your question.

Hello I have a 1980 Ford Bronco 351 2bbl. Wondering if anyone knows which screws adjust what? Please if anyone has any ideas please respond. Thank you.

Here are some images that might help to assist you, and let me know if you require any further assistance.

Adjust the curb idle with the engine warmed up and the choke off.

The air/fuel mixture screws should be adjusted with the engine warmed up and at normal idle speed, then turn each air/fuel mixture screw in one at a time until the engine just begins to mis-fire, then back the air/fuel mixture screw out 1-1/2 to 2 turns out a half a turn at a time until the engine idle is the smoothest. (your vehicle might have restrictor caps over the air/fuel mixture screws to limit the amount of adjustment)

Adjust the fast idle screw to the proper RPM with the engine cold and the choke on.

I have a 1987 gmc jimmy with a 5.7 litre fuel injection and it seems to be lack air or has to much i dnt know . and i want to know how to adjust my fuel air mixture

Unfortunately, most fuel injection engines don't have an adjustable fuel/air mixture by the technician.

The fuel/air mixture is controlled by a computer.

Need to adjust my honda shadow 500 vt carburator's fuel/air mixture

start by synchronizing your throttle plates. Honda calls the next step the "idle drop procedure". u need to know if you have fuel adj. screws or air adj. screws. fuel screws will be on engine side of carb slide, air screws will be on airbox side of carb slide. start leaning out mixture, (turn in fuel screw, turn out air screw. idle will increase so keep adjusting idle back to spec.after each turn if needed. Adjust about 1/4 to 1/2 turn at a time on each carb until there is no change in idle, then richen up mixture by one half turn. If u sync throttle plates first then follow this procedure, there should be no hesitation when you "blip" the throttle, and after revving it should return to idle smooth,
