Honestly, when you get into having coeds come up. my best suggestion is to take it to the local dealership. They will have the digital technician there and can figure out what is going on by reading the codes through computer and have all the flow charts for your bike right in the computer.

I'm afraid that you aren't going to be able to download a owner's manual or any other manual. Harley-Davidson is VERY protective of their copyrighted materials. You can order a manual through a dealer or purchase a manual from a licensed retailer. This this place.

Good Luck

SOURCE: how to change the shifter foot peg on my 2001

Remove pinch bolt from shifter. Remove shifter from shaft. You may need to spread shifter with wedge (screwdriver) to get it to slide off. Put on new shifter and tighten bolt to secure.
A little blue locktight will keep it from falling off.

01 roadking acts like it is running out of fuel 40 to 50 mph engine ck light comes on and off when this is happening, but throws no codes it is fuel injection fuel pressure is good

Hi William, you may have a faulty TPS (throttle position sensor) and testing your TPS is very simple. It is a potentiometer the same as a radio volume control knob or the float sensor in your gas tank that sends a signal to the fuel gauge. The connector to the TPS has 3 wires, the power wire with 5 volts max is red/white, the ground wire is black/white, and your signal wire to the ECM is gray/violet. What ever voltage the signal wire reads at the TPS connector in any throttle position should match exactly at the connector to the ECM. There was no video for a Harley to test the TPS, only one from the early Magneti Marelli system that only shows how to set cold and warm idle, so i have enclosed two back to back videos on how to test a cars TPS, the procedure and voltage readings in the first video are exactly the same on your Harley as is the ohm readings in the second video. Basically, you want smooth and even readings through out the throttle plate position from fully closed to fully opened. A new TPS from Harley is $37.00. I don't know if you can take a defective one apart to access the rheostat to see if it just a dirt or corrosion issue that can be repaired with contact cleaner. Good luck and have nice day.

I have a 2001 FLSTC (carburated) that is not getting any spark to the plugs. Have tested plug wires and coil with ohm meter and they test within spec. I have also tried new spark plugs.

Looks like the ignition module or crank position sensor. Some carb models also have a cam position sensor. Get the trouble codes from the speedo and diagnose from these.
