This could be as simple as needing new batteries. I would start there. The next would be the programming of the module. That will require the manual for you individual vehicle. If those both check out it could be the send receive unit in your car that has gone bad or the remote itself went bad on that one function. You can do some of this yourself but ultimately the company that put it in should trouble shoot this for you without cost.

I have one, is your security light flashing? Sounding like it 'wants to start' is usually a problem with the fuel pump or injectors either not working or the security system shutting them down because the Remote Keyless Entry module (RKE) thinks you are trying to steal your car. The relay for the RKE is a known reason for this to happen, it in under the dash near the steering column.
Hi, the passlock system will cause a code, resulting in a security light. There is a resistor in the ignition housing, when the key lock is turned, the resistance value is sent to the computer, allowin full function. If there is a discrepency in this value, such as a worn lock cyl, a faulty remote car starter, faulty wiring, or theft attempt, the security light will come on.The fuel system will be disabled as a result. Sometimes waiting 10 mins, and retrying may work, It should be scanned for trouble codes, which may lead you to the issue. Thanks...coop442000
you can try unhooking the battery for a couple hours to reset the code in it then run it for 50 miles to get the diag back on line and run it agian as long as the check engine light dont come on in that 50 miles and try unlocking the door with the main key to turn of the securty light or hit the unlock on keyless entry if you have one
I had the same problem. Went to dealer who said it probably needed to be reprogrammed (around $45-50). Paid for premium assistance with FixYA. Ginko gave me the procedure to reprogram my remotes. It was very easy and worked great. Now both of my remotes are working and it only cost me $9.99.
