SOURCE: 2000 yz125 - Water pump seal change

The two seals in the diagram below are separated by the casing they fit into. The impeller is threaded to screw onto the impeller shaft. I think you already knew that by your "holding the tire" note. The center casing does not get split. The right casing does remove then a wrench is used on the shaft as the impeller unscrews counter clockwise. It is risky to "Lock the wheel" because the gear on the impeller is very thin and can break.

A “very helpful” rating on this answer? Thanks!

Hi there I pour water in to my radiator on my ktm 125 sx 2007 and the water comes out the middle of my gear box casings and of course it's mixed with the oil. Any ideas was thinking inner water pump...

Your cooling system leaks into the engine. You need to check the water pump for damaged oil/water separator and cylinder's head gasket next.

Water in oil put new motul 7100 in and rni it for 10 min and drop the oil and it comes out grey???? o8 rmz450

The seal in the water pump has gone bad and is letting water get into the oil. The oil turns grey when water gets emulsified with the oil. The pump will need a new seal, "O" ring and gaskets. Go to this website to see an exploded view of the pump assembly; www.babbittsonline.com tombones49_289.gif

I have an oil leak from a drain hole in front of engine.what could be the problem?

If the oil plug bolt is leaking you need a new aluminum sealing washer. There are no oil weep holes in the front of the motor. Is it the weep hole under the water pump? You probably have a bad water pump seal or a bad oil seal on the water pump shaft. Buy a new water pump and the K&L water pump gasket kit. The K&L gasket kit comes with all the gaskets, seals, and washers necessary to do the water pump replacement for a fraction of the cost of the OEM Honda individual gaskets, seals, and washers.
