Question about 2004 KTM EXC 450 Racing
Been sitting for about 6mnths,,was hard to start, bought a new plug changed the fuel,,eventually pull started it behind the 4x and had a quik ride,went out to go for another ride and no spark,i turned it off at the kill switch but now there is nothing?,confused,should of stuck with honda,lol any solutions?
Take the kill switch off and see if it starts. The killswitch may be permanently earthing the ignition.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Offhand, the only factor to be checked that could foul a sparkplug for your bike would be the 2T oil injector/pump. There is too much 2T oil going to the combustion chamber. Either the injector would require restricting or for some reason, there is also 2T oil in the fuel tank (pre-mix).

yes, you are correct, those are the two pieces that could solve your problem, but i would go first for your cdi, you may choose to have it tested first also, before you jump out to buy a new one.

check inlet valve clearances. they close up making it hard to start exactly as you described. titanium valve coatings wear and ressesion happens quickly,a clean air filter must be maintained to prevent contaniments wearing valve coatings.
