I just fitted a gianelli exhaust expansion to my old Yamaha DT125 lc -87. The bike lost 20km/h with the new exhaust. It revs better and accelerates better but when I get it to 100km/h with 3rd gear at some...

Go to a smaller exhaust or a longer exhaust (not practical. Engines need some back pressure. That is why headers on dragsters are all of equal length.

What is the standard air mixture setting ? and the needle position ? Yamaha ttr250 2004 bike runs on choke but when you turn it off bike cuts out like it runs out of fuel

Hi, You have a closed mainjet (need cleaning) as for idling you must screw in all the way and then unscrew 2 turns (that's a standart) and then you only have to do minor adjustments.
As for the needle position they all work the highest grove you set the more fuel to your engine. Start from the lowest, test the bike for power and rpm's and adjust from there
Good luck

Bike sat for 1 yr. starts on choke and idels but when throtle applied it stalls.

Remove airfilter hose from the back of each carb, using your finger gently lift the slide upwards to ensure movment,
You may need to remove carbs for serviceing, when on choke fuel enters the engine through the choke and or primary jet, when you open the throttle the fuel demand comes from the mainjet, the slide needle becomes stuck in the diffuser and the main jet becomes restricted, as a result of old fuel contamination builds up and requires the parts being dismantled for cleaning, good luck

Hi, merry xmas, i'm hoping you may enlighten me; i'm haveing issues with a ski and am not all that well informed. it will start and idle eventually, but when the throttle is squeezed, gently or quickly, it...

Sounds like its a fuel/ carb issue and running very lean. Possibly a stuck float or gummed up mainjets.
I would remove the carbs and give them a thourough cleaning and check the float level.
Also be sure you have good fuel flow from the tank to the carbs. A fuel line may be collapsed or a filter clogged preventing the carb from getting enough fuel.

I cant get it to run when i kick it ill run for a sec the just cut off

Timing is right or it wouldn'trun at all. So now you need fuel and air in the proper amounts. If it's starving for either one it will cause the problem you describe. Start with the air cleaner and remove it. If it's really dirty this could be the problem. try to start the bike without it. If it still don't run then your probably not getting enough gas. possably dirt in filter (check flow to carb) or clog in mainjet. Also check for constant spark from your plug. If it's internittant you could have a coil going out. It's a process of elimination but always start on the cheap end. Air, fuel, spark then on to wiring nightmares. Best of luck.

Leaking water heater from top

water heater is rotten
go to home depot and buy a replacement heater
it might be posible to rent a water heater from the local electric co and they will install it for free and charge you 12-15 per month for the heater saves money and saves cash for install
if it breaks they replace it same for gas heater let them dicker arround wit the heater and pull there hair out somtimes it is beter to rent than to buy also you can get a biger heater if you want they usualy will suply a larger unit at the same price if it will fit in your space
