Question about Jianshe Motorcycles

Open Question

My jianshe puma 250 will not change gear from 1 st.its stuck and I tried reverse and adjusting the clutch but it didn't help. Any ideas...have changed the gear oil also.

First they all do this to a certain degree even my Centauro! I had my Centauro serviced when it got as bad as you say yours is and they said I should go after the person that last worked on my transmission because he only put in 8 of the required 10 clutch plate springs. I said it came that way from the factory since I bought it as new in 2002 right out of the crate! Still cost me $600. Since then I have found out that the adjustment it self (the one you can make at the handlebar or down at the transmission end of the cable) is not all their is too it. Guzziology in chapter 9 under clutch adjustment sez: normal clutch wear can on most models, eventually back the clutch arm up against something solid so that even with a properly adjusted cable the clutch is subject to excessive wear and slippage. Many a happy customer that thought a new clutch was needed has left our shop after a simple adjustment of the arm's position. This sounds like what you are experiencing. Take pictures when you have this corrected, use a ruler to give perspective to the adjustment and share your results with us. All I have is the text as an example!,,,

Hi!
I havn't come across your Machine before but hopefully a little Q 'n' A will solve/FiXya problem.
O.K. 1st is the clutch cable operated? if so can the cable should be adjustable from the handle bars?(Then take up the slack to leave a slight gap when lever is pulled) Do this by loosening the locking screw on the end of the cable and turning the adjuster anti clockwise so tension is put on the cable Not the lever.
If the cable isn't adjustable from lever go down to the engine and do the same as above on the cable there.
2nd Is the clutch fluid operated (Master Cylinder on clutch lever) If so look for clutch pushrod and adjust it by loosening again the locking nut and winding it out to create less gap between pushrod and clutch arm. You may need to bleed the system if after adjusting still the same.(Come back to me on that if needed)
3rd If when carried out the clutch starts slipping i.e. in top gear Engine Rev's and doesn't move forward well? then release the tension on either cable/pushrod until happy medium.

SOURCE: i got a 1995 rm 250 that the gears are stuck.

Sorry to have to say this, you have a bent shift fork. The repair means taking the engine out of the frame then removing the top end, removing the flywheel and electrics, removing the clutch , shift mechanism and kick starter and a few other parts. THEN you are ready to split the gearbox to remove the crankshaft and then the bent shift fork. Next you get to put it all back together. This is a pretty big job for the home mechanic.

You will need an impact driver, flywheel puller, case splitter and torque wrench plus the normal screwdriver, pliers, etc.. Alternate to the special tools is taking it to the dealer and say "Fix it".
I normally tell people to take it to the shop just so they don't get into such an involved project.

SOURCE: 3rd gear clutch slip

is this pensol15/40 a motorcycle oil ,do not use auto motor oil in your bic it contains a friction modifier which will coat the clutch plates and cause them to slip and then glaze. the clutch plates will have to be removed and cleaned with brake cleaner and lighty sanded to remove the glaze. jim

Use 10w40 motor oil. Stick with the major brands; Pennzoil, Quaker State, Mobil or Shell.

Car not going into gear


probably nothing wrong with the clutch or gear box
most likely that the clutch master cylinder and /or clutch slave cylinder has failed
replace both and bleed the system properly
If it turns out to be the clutch ( which I seriously doubt from your statement) you would need a clutch hydraulic system in good condition to handle the extra pressure for the new clutch pressure plate

What would cause a clutch not 2 engage on a 19988 harley sporster.put new chrome primary cover on an clutch doesn't work.


U probably just didn't adjust the cluch cable correctly after you feed it in to the notch that I clips into their is a spring and a nut used to adjust the cable tension if it's adjusted to far eat her way it can slip or not let it clutch at all leaving it stuck in gear try turning the slot screw to change tension on the basket

I just changed the clutch cable to add apehanger bars,got everything back together,but noticed the clutch handle was very loose.I preceded to adjust until it was tighter,but there is still 1" or so...


With the engine off, put the bike in gear and try to push it. If it rolls, your clutch is disengaged for some reason. You'll have to pull the end off of the transmission where the clutch cable goes in and check to find out what's wrong.

You might have a bad clutch because even if it disengage, You still will face the symptoms you describe Above. I would check clutch for any Air in the line if you have a haydrolic clutch and for a loose cable if you have a cable. If all of the above are fine then you might have a bad Synchronize inside the transmission and usually you need to take it apart and rebuild it. Sorry Man and good luck

try first by changing the oil if this does not work adjust the clutch .
if you have no luck with that you may have to get your clutch plates looked at .

How do I adjust the clutch in my 2005 F-250 Superduty with a 6.0L Diesel


The clutch on this vehicle is hydraulically operated and as such there isn't any actual adjustments that can be made. A worn clutch disc can cause the clutch not to engage until the pedal is very high up while a problem with the hydraulics can prevent the clutch from fully disengaging which will cause the gears to grind when trying to shift into first or reverse. Hope this helps a bit with your question.

The most likely cause is stale fuel. It is always best to drain the fuel from the float bowl before storage of more than a month or two. That way you won't be faced with possibly having to rebuild the carburetor in order to make it run again.
If the engine stalls when you drop into first gear, with the clutch disengaged, then the clutch plates are stuck together. In this case - before starting the engine, try putting the transmission in 2nd or third gear, pull the clutch in and roll the bike forward and backward a few times to free the stuck plates.
Meanwhile, fresh gasoline may be all you need.

it probably needs a clutch adjustment. try rocking it hard up,down side to side while changing gears. some peopl ecall it transmission lock.
