Hi, Mjenkins480 for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary, transport your bike to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your problem. SOURCE: misfire forward cylinder

First you'll need to get a jet kit from West coast star. Then you'll need to jet the carbs to run equally. This may take some trial and error. Another thing that worked on my bike was the upgraded coil kit they sell. It's almost double the voltage of the stock coils and comes with better insulated wires for a more uniform resistance. I haven't had this problem since. It'll make the cylinders fire evenly and save you from those pestiferous fouled plugs. I hope this helps.

To me it sounds like the coil is breaking down and not working at higher RPM's. You can take them off and have them tested at a service shop.

2002 Suzuki Marauder VZ800 Front cylinder does not fire till bike warms up a bit?

Definately try a spark plug first. What does the old spark plug look like? ( white, oil fouled, melted, metallic?). Usually a fuel issue will make the inoperable cylinder very hot. Might have a loose valve guide in the head, or a bent valve.

What is the firing order and location of cyl numbers on the motor

The right front cylinder when you are sitting on the bike is the number one cylinder.
Left front is number two, right rear is number three, and left rear is number four.

If your carbs and plugs are fine you may wish to check into you wiring harness to see if you have a cyclinder not firing due to a problem with wiring (frayed or disconnected).

Next time you get it warmed up, check the compression on the front cylinder when it quits. Be careful of course since it will be hot. It is possible that you are losing compression when everything heats up and expands, but it comes back when the bike cools.

Getting firing code error for cylinders 1,3 & 5 on my 1999 Sonata

I was wrong about the distributor being round (I was thinking about my other car). I found variations about the firing order but after troubbleshooting, varified the plug wiring order from the front of the car is 1 - 4 - 5 - 2 - 3 - 6 not 1 - 4 - 5 - 2 - 6 - 3 found on several web sites. From the front of the car looking at the engine, the back three cylinders by the firewall going from left to right are 1, 3, 5. The front three are 2, 4 & 6.

check the car to front cylinder hose it may have cracked and is leaking the petrol, thus not enough fuel in the front cylinder = no firing !

I have a 1985 Yamaha Virago and the front cylinder is back firing and it breaks up at low RPM

Yes, the problem is likely the "low/idle fuel circuit". There's choke, idle, and hi rpm fuel "circuits" (not as in electrical). The idle clogs first since its small, and the front cylindar seems to go first on this bike. rebuild w/gaskets. 3 hours shop labor = ~ $240. good luck.
