Brake and tail light globe

I recently rebuilt an rs250. Everything is completed except a globe for the brake / tail light. I was wondering if anyone would know which globe it is?? It would save me buying 10 different globes before i get it right!!

Everything except the brake lights work on my 2001 R1 Yamaha

Hi, Candace good for you any type of wiring harness installation is no small quickie and fixing the brake light is easy before diagnosing any brake light issue always check the bulb and fuse first for integrity a brake light staying on is usually caused by the front brake light switch, which is mechanical, not disengaging. On early models moving the throttle control housing closer to the front brake master cylinder is the main fix. On late models, the switch gets tweaked and needs to be realigned. A brake light that does not come on when the brake lever is applied can be caused by a faulty switch or no continuity in the wiring at the switch. The rear brake light switch is hydraulic and it is extremely rare to malfunction in a closed circuit condition causing the brake light to stay on. Usually, rear brake light switch issues are caused by no brake pedal free play or a sticky rear master cylinder piston. A brake light that does not come on when the rear brake pedal is depressed can be caused by a faulty switch, air contamination in the brake line, or no continuity in the wiring at the switch. Break light not coming on on my motorcycle whats the problem?

could be the globe or the actual brake switch or a short
you will need to remove the tail light cover to check the globe usually with a phillips screw driver remove the globe by pushing it in and turning it to have a look inside there will be two spring bars across the top of stems inside the globe on might be broken give a flick with your finger the broken one will vibrate

hope it helps

Brake light doesn't light up

first you need to check the easiest thing, the rear light globe. replace the light bulb. if still not working, check fuses,, then you also have a front and rear brake lamp switches. Most likely it's just your rear light globe. easy fix!

My 2003 750 shadow spirit tail light/brake light is always on

Ensure the bulb is correctly fitted!!

You must have a foot hand brake switch mal-adjusted / faulty. back them both off (If possible) and it should extinguish.

Does it still work with headlamps off?? If so then one of the switches are faulty / need adjusting.

Brake light

I am trying to hook up my Acerbis LED tail/brake light to my '01 EC250. I can get the tail light to work but not the brake light. I am running the all stock electrical except for the headlight and tail light are Acerbis units.I guess is if anyone has any experience with this tail light set up? I spent all day trying to figure this puzzle outIf you have the wiring hooked up as described in the previous post try hooking the tail lamp wire up to the brake lamp. Does it work then? If so the brake switch may be defective. If not then either a bad ground or switch. Trace the wiring from the brake switch to the connectors and unplug it. You will need to test it with an ohmeter and see if it is turning on and off as you work the brake. If the switch is working you either have an open wire or the brake light bulb ground is not good.,,
