2005 RM-Z 450 little rattle coming from engine

My friend, you havn't checked the oil (you say you don't know how) and you are talking about a rebuild?!?

Whoa! Slow down a little bit. Back up the horse. The very first thing you do - before you do anything else - is check the fluids! NO EXCEPTIIONS. Should be checked before EVERY RIDE. Your life depends on this! Anything you can't find or don't understand, you ask the seller - standing right there with YOUR money in his or her hand.

Find and read the owners manual - find the tool kit - find and check the battery. Look at the tires, wear, alignment, pressure. Check all electrical items, lights, horn, starter etc. DO NOT move this motorcycle until you know how to check the fluids and find them to be proper.

Your motorcycle is potentially 14 years old. To protect your investment, take your RM-Z 450 to the Suzuki dealer in your town and get it put into proper condition. After you do these things - NOW is the time to show it off to your friend.

I have a 78 flh an the clutch release finger broke, so i took the tranny out and apart to fix that. When putting it back together i must have put something together wrong or something, cause when i hit the...

You may not have the kicker gear on the inside of the clutch release housing timed right. The gear has a knob on it that has to be against the stop inside the housing when the kicker is all the way at the top. Also, you must have enough spring tension on the kicker return spring to hold the kicker up firmly. If you don't, the kicker will bounce up and down while riding down the road. Make sure you've got the spring wound up tight enough.

Good Luck

Hi i have bought a new Buell 2009 model bike from Harley Davidson in Queensland Australia, I have a really rough runing engin, i took the bike back to Harley Dealership and thay could not fix the problem...

I have had two Buell Ulysses from a Brisbane Harley Dealer and have put a total of 80 000km on the two of them. I can tell you that if you have an after-market exhaust installed (EG Jardine, etc) then surging and backfires are the name of the game. Power Commander and other replacement EFCs are not the answer either (because no proper solution was in place before they stopped Buell's production). I do run a Jardine on my current model and putting in the noise limiter has made for smoother running. Also...Buell's are subect to vibration in the bars. I installed anti-vibration weights in the bar-ends and voila' vibration...just great as I can now see my speedometer...LOL. I hope any of this is of some use to you. I LOVE my Buell. I've been riding over 50yrs, I've owned dozens of bikes, motorcycles are my daily ride and this is my favourite machine (followed close behind by my Hayabusa).

Hi, I just bought a stock 2003 ttr 125. The bike had been sitting for years and barely would run. I took the air filter out and it was full of gasoline. I took the carb apart and cleaned all the gummed...

Piston rings may be sticking after sitting for so long. It may serve you well to remove the top end, paying special attention to the timing alignment as you do. Visually inspect the piston and rings. ensure the rings can move freely in their grooves. Look at the piston for signs of blow-by. A burned up surface of the piston that extends past the rings onto the skirts. You may simply re-ring this machine and it would solve your problem if you view these problems.

Bike stalls out in neutral and wont start back up while riding

It sounds like the battery may be bad in spite of Auto-Zone's pronouncement. The connectors to the battery may be bad enough to make a poor connection to the battery posts. Is the battery water level up to the line in each cell?
Re-jet one step bigger as the baffle removal will make it run lean.

Problems starting my 2003 Yamaha TTR225

The cylinder is the coil. It might be bad but it is expensive and you would not replace it till you know for sure there is no spark. You can take the plug out and then put it on the wire and ground it against the engine while a friend cranks the starter. Look for the spark flash. Make sure the kill switch is in the "on" position.
If that shows a spark then you will need to move into a different line of troubleshooting. I always recommend that people buy a Clymer manual.

2001 Suzuki Intruder 1400 WONT START!!

Sounds like you may have fould plugs replace with new NGK's. If still no start ckeck spark. two old plugs taped together or even tach welded together makes excellent spark check tool. No open cylinder no shot of air fuel mix to light by plug to fin method (electodes aposing each other) plug two cylinders plug wires and turn motor watching for spark and color of spark.
