Question about 1999 Suzuki GSX-R 600
Great question about taking to a qualified Technician, How do you rate yourself? have you a decent tool set up? are you Mechanically minded? and have you worked on engines before?
If yes then grand you'll need a full set of 8mm through to 24mm ring, open ended and socket spanners/tools, also a decent set of assorted screwdrivers, torques bits and allen keys.
The tool kit supplied with the GSX is really a basic get you home set so I wouldn't use it personally.
You will require quality engine oil graded to conditions i.e. 10W40 etc., I always use Synthetic and dump it every 1500 miles with new oil filter each 3000 miles.
So oil out the way you'll want to replace plugs again spec to running/fuel etc., then Air filter (Genuine) although you may have Aftermarket K&N's or similar which will just need a wash/blow out.
Check battery level, also if doing full service check oil and adjust drive chain, if shaft dump oil and replace, grease swing arm nipple points etc,.
So Zoran, up for this? if so go to WWW.haynesmanuals.com and see if your bike is listed and bingo your bike has bonded to you and when blatting down the road/highway your experience will be even greater as YOU have TLC'd your Steed.
I hope this helped.
