My hot water pipes were froze this morning. Michigan! I have cold(almost froze) There is not any water coming out in kitchen from hot side. I have cold though in every room. There is water coming out a little bit from hot side in both bathrooms, its all cold water though. Lit the pilot light on hot water heater, has stayed lit since. The burner will not light though?

Does it run cold? Or not run at all? If cold and bathroom hot, it's piping problem. If doesn't run, valve closed. If no hot water anywhere but runs cold, water heater problem. If gas, fire out.

Who ever hooked the pipes up to the tap they put the cold pipe on the hot side of tap. Same the other side. You need to change the pipes to opposite side of tap.

Maybe hot valve is cut off under kitchen sink or valve is defective

have you got hot water coming through the cold tap?
not possible unless the pipes are not connected corectly

it could be frozren depends the temp. of the room u have it in. if thats the case get ur blow dryer out put heat to it. my boyfriend and i have had to do this to our pipes 3xs already.my cold water in the kitchen did to, i just turned it on and waited for it to unthaw. i hope this will help.

good idea to let the cold water to run a bit to stop freezing up . Pity that you didn't do the same with the hot water. There is only hot water in the tank but the water in the hot water pipes will freeze as the heat goes out of the pipes. (Always to have to wait for the hot water to come through when you use the shower or bath.) The water will freeze up right back to the hot water tank

Hello. When the pipe froze it may have dislodged a piece of scale or rust from inside the pipe. When the water flowed again the particle moved up to the small hole at the valve and caused a partial block. You'll have to shut off the water supply and disconnect the supply line on the hot side. You may be able to open the faucet and blow back through to try to remove the blockage. If this don't work remove the faucet handle and pull the cartdrige out to clean it. Remember to close the water supply.

your pipes are clogged, what if you were to not turn on the cold and turn on the hot does any water come out at all, with just the hot side turned on,, if not there could be a valve that has been turned off, or the pipes are clogged

Duissamble the faucet after turning off the shutoff vavev and look for an obstruction. The only shutoff if the tempature gets too high is the pressure/tempature pop off valve which would redrirect the discharge down another path. Go to the waterheater and see if it is coming out from another open pipe from the heater. 

Yes Get a space heater and run it by the frozen pipe. Turn off all electricity to avoid shock and it should break free by the morning. Run it at a drip from now on during really cold night just like the sink but set washer on DRAIN this will help. Good LUCK
