If valve was bent couldn't even do 30 mph. So first check gas filter as a basic first. If clogged will cut power down. Otherwise computer wiring.l Any lights go on If not u might want to skip gas filter
23,000 on any scooter is "high miles" probably needs new piston rings,bearings,etc. Check your compression! You should be over 100 psi. Was it smoking more than usual? I would start out with checking your compression though. you can rent out a tester at any parts store. Hope this helps you out.
had this problem myself. it turned out to be a sticky throttle cable from the throttle position sensor to the transmission making the transmission think it was in kick down mode. gave the cable a good dose of WD40 and its worked a treat ever since. and that's about three years to date.
check all your grounds for a good connection and same with the positive terminal check for a loose connection clean the cable ends good . all it takes is a bad ground not making connection .
