What is this relay for?

What does the 3en-81950-00 relay do? What is it responsible for? I can't find a diagram online showing all that is tied to it. Any ideas?

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

If I remember right, an 3EN-81950-00 multi-function relay onboard an FZR would be on the right side, beside or behind the starter relay. Its function is an electro-mechanical processor. It detects if the transmission is in neutral, side stand is down, clutch is in. In turn it enables the CDI to work and the starter relay to trigger the starter motor. Internally it would have 2 relays and a couple of diodes.

Pls post back result(s). Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

 3EN-81950-00 Relay Assembly

Benimur is correct. This is often reffered to as the master relay or the relay assembly and it has about 4 different circuits in it which include a couple diodes and a couple relays. More information about this relay and the entire electrical system of a Yamaha FZR can be found at http://www.fzrarchives.com/online_manuals.html this site has been around forever over 6 years since I've had my fizzer and they never let me down with all the info I need.
In particular if you D/L the manual for the 600 CC you can use section 8 and you will see all the information you need to troubleshoot this relay and test it. You must check continuity and resistance across a couple of different sets of pins to properly test all the included circuits in the module. The reference values to check all of the circuits in this module are in all 3 of the section 8 files that are provided in the manuals that are linked above. There are a couple circuits on the lighting system check for this relay module in file 1 and 3 and the testing of the ignition cut off relay and diode inside this module can be found in file 2. Hope this helps took a lil bit to find the specs I needed but this info got me through the test I needed to diagnoss this relay to be an issue that I was having with my Ingnition System on my 96' FZR lucky for us most years 89-99 are the same so this manual will work for most people.. they even have a manual for the 400 CC on there too I think.

yes, if the sidestand is down, putting it in gear will kill the engine.. stops you riding off with the stand down.

Hi I don't now what is that small littel black bocks is it a relay or what my bike start and that thing popt and now my bike dasent whant to start

If you're talking about the ones that are about 2 centimeters square or so those are relays. If you search "online parts diagram (your specific bike)" you should be able to find a part number to look for. A members forum for your model motorcycle (CBRs, Speed Triples, etc) would also be a good place to look.

On the relay part no.3en-81950-00 for an xvs650 do I need to match any other codes help

Hi, Steve for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary, transport your bike to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your problem. Show me fuse box sportster 2006 harley

Hi Jeremy, 1998 and later Sportster models circuit breaker and fuses were located in an electrical bracket behind the starter relay and data link that was mounted behind the left side panel. 1997 and earlier circuit breakers only no fuses were located under the seat and for a free wiring diagram please visit the website below and good luck.Harley Davidson Wiring Diagrams and Schematics

Signal Light Problems

Personally I would suspect the wrong type of relay. It sounds as if you have wired them in to a normal relay ( which is just a switch for handling high power) you need a flasher relay. When you buy a replacement, make sure you get an electronic one as this will allow you to use various different types of light. It is all about balanced loads for a flasher relay. I hope this helps.

Suzuki C50, 2006. Right turn signal won't cancel even though the left signal works. Have opened up the switch to insure correct function. Traced wires to assure no scraped for grounding problems. ...

I do not think these are tied to a relay of any sort, so I would suspect that the switch has failed mechanically; when you press the cancel button, the contacts are remaining closed. I am assuming that it is the same as my '05, and not self-cancelling.
