Let me geuss you broke the new plug as you were installing it, if so you just need to use a spark plug socket that had the rubber inside of it, that helps preventing snapping the ceramic on the plugs as you tighten them in, just remember the plugs only need to be snugged in, dont over tighten them.

WHAT CAUSED MY SPARK PLUG TO BREAK

Could be a faulty plug, over tightening them during installation can also cause them to break.

What do I need to do to change spark plugs and wires on 1997 mountaineer

Spark plug wires just pull off and press back on. Make sure you grasp the wires by the rubber boot only. If you pull the wires by the wires, instead of using the boot, you can break the wires. Remove the plugs with a 3/8" ratchet, extension and a spark plug socket. I do not know if you have to remove anything to get access to the spark plugs and spark plug wires. You may need a universal joint to angle the ratchet.

My 1993 Honda accord wont start, I replace the

I like to make sure the timing belt is not skipped or broken by watching the cam turn inside the valve cover. Then I lay a spare spark plug on valve cover connected to any plug wire to see if it sparks. Fuel can be confirmed by smelling the exhaust, or by using starting fluid . These cars are famous for a coil relay solder break problem. The relay is heat expansion damaged, its mounted high up in the dash drivers side corner it is about 3" square gray.

Broken spark plug in the head on a 2005 Ford F-150 5.4L

typically when you break a spark plug, it is the ceramic portion that breaks. the bit left in the engine would still be removable. if your worried, just spray a little bit of wd40 on the plug and let it sit for a few minutes. they should come out alright... just take care not to break the new ones on installation

I'm trying to locate the spark plugs in my suzuki 2008 sx4.

You remove the rectangular plastic cover on top of the engine(2 screws), under that is the plug wires and spark plugs. Pull wires straight up, remove plugs with proper spark plug socket, extension and ratchet, reverse to install.

Platinum plugs are not required but will allow longer change intervals. Check the gap but do not gap them, if they are not properly gapped. Bring them back and asked for new ones.

The metal's on the Platium plugs are harder then copper plugs and can break upon trying or break in your cylinder when in uses.

Good luck and hope this helps

How do i change the spark plugs on 2003 kia sedona van

Hey bobnatboys,
The back 3 spark plugs are a pain to get to.
But I have 2 methods, which perhaps you can put 2 an 2 together to make it easier for yourself.
firstly make sure you buy new ignition leads because they can break when removing them from the spark plugs. The front (cylinders 1, 3, 5) are easy to get to with 3/8" drive sparl plug socket, an extension bar and ratchet. As for the back 3, put the vehicle up on stands at the front, grab the spark plug socket, a short extension bar and the rachet, crawl underneath the front of the car on your back and start swearing. 2 hands are required. First off, remove the plug leads by a small twist then pull. This is where the plug lead might break. Once the ignition leads are out of the way (yes, even though they seem to come up hard against the firewall - by manipulating them they can be removed), drop the plug socket down the hole onto the spark plug, feed the short extension bar into the hole and click it onto the socket, then feed the ratchet up to the extension bar (2 hands) and proceed to loosen/undo the spark plug. If you don't have the socket with the rubber piece in the end of it - to grip onto the plug, then you will need a thin magnet to drag them out with. Reverse the process for installation.
Now the second option is remove the inlet manifold, its an easy procedure, and no need to hoist the car, just remember once the inlet manifold is off, block the holes to prevent things from falling in.
