Well, you could replace the other coils but most people wait for them to fail first.
If you replaced the coil and spark plug and the miss is still happening, it could be a faulty injector or valve problem.
The code is saying that cylinder has no power, not that it has no spark.

SOURCE: #5 cylinder misfire

I have a corolla and had #4 cylinder misfire also diagnosed at autozone. After changing the spark plugs, problem persisted, along with the same error code, so they recommended changing the spark plug wires, and that is what fixed it. I would have changed the rotor cap too, but was low on dough. Glad that was not the problem.

OK IS THERE IS ACTUALLY A mis-FIRE THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE SHAKING DURING IDLE AND ACCELERATION IF IT IS, here is what you do get a noid light this used to check injector pulse. This vehicle will set a misfire code if injector is not functioning efficiently or bad. A noid light is like a test light bulb can be bought at almost any auto store.SART UP VEHICLE AND DISCONNECT THE INJECTOR WIRE TO THE CYLINDER THAT'S mis-FIRING AND CONNECT noid LIKE TO ELECTRICAL PLUG. DO THIS ONE CYLINDER AT A TIME. The nod light should have a steady flickering light/consistent pattern of flickering. If there is Gap/irratic flickering or no flickering BINGO you have found your problem. NO FLICKERING= bad/broken injector wire if not broken BAD COMPUTER/ECU. IF THE FLICKERING IS CONSISTENT /GOOD = BAD INJECTOR..replace injector and solve the misfire problem. However is all the components tested are ALL GOOD. Then the only other SOURCE for a mis-fire is the camshaft sensor that provides reference for injector pulse and the crankshaft sensor provide reference for Spark pulse. JUST ON A LAST NOTE: make sure all oils are getting electrical power to them. Good Luck I know this is alot of info at once. Contact me if you need more help. Thanks fr using FIX YA

Rough Idle 2011 Nissan Altima

If you're experiencing a rough idle in your 2011 Nissan Altima, the first thing you should do is diagnose the issue. The Torque app can provide you with some diagnostic codes which can help you narrow down the problem. In your case, two current fault codes and two pending fault codes were recorded. The current fault codes point to a system that is running too lean on Bank 2 and misfiring in multiple cylinders. The pending codes indicate a system that is too lean on Bank 1 and a cylinder 2 misfire.
To start troubleshooting, you should begin by checking the spark plugs and ignition coils. Both of these components are integral to the proper functioning of the engine. If they are faulty, they can cause misfiring and rough idling. You should also inspect the mass air flow sensor, as a faulty one can throw off the air-fuel ratio of the engine.
Finally, if the problem still persists after inspecting the spark plugs, ignition coils, and mass air flow sensor, then you should consider consulting a professional mechanic for further diagnosis. They can provide a more accurate assessment of the issue and recommend the best course of action.

Flashing SES, P0305, and P1145

A flashing SES light means that you are operating the vehicle under conditions that are DESTROYING your catalytic converters! This is not good.

Diagnostic Test Code (DTC) P0305 is defined by SAE J2012 as "Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected".

DTC P1145 is a "manufacturer-specific code" and is defined by Nissan as "Bank 2 Intake Valve Timing Control Position Sensor - High Or Low Voltage"

So, to put it simply, you need to find out WHY cylinder #5 is misfiring and get it fixed. You also need to diagnose the intake valve timing control position sensor circuits on bank 2 to (1) find out if the voltage is HIGHER or LOWER than specification (since the code itself is not specific about which it is). And (2) find out what is CAUSING the voltage to be out of specification and take the appropriate action correct it.

some of the nissan/infiniti 3.5L engines have been known to have internal ring/valve seal problems therefore you should either keep a quart or two in your trunk or think about selling it.You should change your oil a little early because synthetic oil tend to break up sludge in your engine the first time it is introduced.Longer intervals are ok after that.

Put new rear rotors and pads on my 2002 I35 Infinity, now have very weak pedal , have to pump the brakes in order to stop, doesn't maintain pressure.

Doesn't sound like the brake lines were bled properly. Many times after pad and rotor installation if the lines are bled correctly you will have to pump them initially after the repair for a couple of minutes until the pressure is built back up. Also check the master cylinder and make sure fluid level is ok.
