How to refill transmission fluid in the volkswagen touareg 2005 i cant find the filler plug
I must respectfully disagree with the answer below. There is no dipstick since the the Touareg has "lifetime" fluid. When my Touareg reach 150,000 miles I decided to replace the transmission fluid myself. To do this you remove the coverplate under the transmission. I bough a cheap plastic fluid pump at the local auto parts store and pumped out the old fluid. I have to admit, even with 150,000 miles the fluid looked pretty good.
Once it was drained, I removed the entire pan underneath the transmission so I could clean it (I did find a small amount of metal debris in the pan). I replaced the gasket while I reinstalled the pan.
Once the pan is back you use the pump to pump new fluid up into the transmission. IMPORTANT, there is a valve that opens when the temperature of the fluid is over 30 deg C (86 Deg F), which allows more fluid to be filled into the pan. When the fluid is topped off the fluid will spill out of the port.
Good luck!
Hi the fluid goes in the same hole that the dipstick is in, You will need a long skinny funnel...

No fluids are consumed in any vehicle
Thinking something you know nothing about
& the real issues, should be addressed at a repair
shop or trans shop
If it is low on trans fluid, then most likely
the damage is done already, based on your
description.
If it is low, then at the very least, you repair the leak,
not just add fluid

On your steering wheel there is a button bottom right it should look like two squares. That is the menu button. Scroll through the menu settings until Time appears. Push in on the thumb wheel above the menu button to select. After that roll the wheel up or down to adjust the time and press in when finished.

You will need a large mechanics seringe. There will be filling plug above the drain plug .May be on front or the rear of your gearbox.
With the seringe **** up the fluid from a container and insert in the filling hole.Once the gearbox is full ,you will see fluid coming out of the filling hole.Thats the level and job done.
