Motorcycle won't start! Cranks but won't start up

My motorcycle was running fine a couple months ago. It now will turn over and crank like crazy. So the battery and starter are fine. I have tried messing witht the petcock, changing the choke, open and closed throttle. The bike just won't start! It WILL NOT start when I drop the clutch either! HELP ME :(

It sounds like the problem is in the coils check to make sure they are firing properly

Hi, Frank and the usual suspects are:
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Bank angle sensor tripped and ignition/light key switch not cycled to the "OFF" position and then back to the "ON" position.
5. Faulty starter button/switch.
6. Faulty jiffy stand or clutch pull in switch/sensor.
7. Security alarm needs a reset.
8. Starter control circuit, relay, or solenoid faulty.
9. Electric starter shaft pinion gear is not engaging or over-running starter clutch slipping. Good luck and have nice a day.

hi mate ,,to have black plugs ,the fuel is to rich,, if u no wot your doin matey,, u will have to clean the carbs out 1st,, take carbs off the bike turn them upside down ,,undo the bottoms ,, take out the jets and idle jets ,, and blow threw them so u can see daylight threw the little holes,, clean any brown residue out as well, ,while the tanks off n stuff, one at a time pull the plug cap off ,, unscrew the cap from the ht wire,, and just snip a liitle bit of the wire off ,,just so u can see a copper lookin wire pokin out the inner of the ht wire,, then screw the cap back on ,, and put back on the plug,, try this little service 1st,, if nothing come back in ,,and il tell u the next step,, cheers

Harley softail 2000, has been sittin for 3 months, cranks but wont start

The battery has to be fully charged. It will crank but will not start without a fully charged battery.

If it still does not start, check for gas.

Really the battery is most likely at fault here if it was alright 3 months ago.
