Remove spark plugs, try turning it over. I f it won't budge try pouring a few tea spoonfuls of wd40 or mystery marvel oil and let it set for an hour and repeat again. After several hours try and see if it will turn over or not. If it turns over reinstall the plugs and start it up. Your rings on the piston have stuck just enough to seize the engine. It should free up if you keep repeating the procedure. After you have it running, shut it down and replace the oil again.

When I turn the ignition key on before I start it, I get a little oil can symbol and the red light on the bottom left is on. I want to know if there is an issue. I just had the oil changed....may have...

If the oil light goes off once the engine is started this is normal, if it stays on while the engine is running there is a problem.

You can check the oil level by having someone hold the bike upright and looking at the round window on the lower right side of the engine. There are lines on the case indicating the min and max oil levels.

How to change oil

tools will very depening on the Bike.most of the time it is a 13mm or 14mm on the draine plug check to see what size before you start this process.first you need to start the bike and let it warm up the oil so to break loose all the debris from use. This is about 15 min. stand your bike where it is standing as straight up as possible, and you can get to the drain plug with ease.place a rag of some sort under the bike to catch any spill, place a oil pan (I use a butter bowl)under the bike to catch the draining oil.loosen the drain plug and you are there.Be careful the bike does not fall over as you loosen the drain plug. GOOD LUCK

My c50 boulevard has 12000 miles and used a quart of oil in the last 2400 miles. but have not seen any smoke. changed oil and oil turned black shortly after starting.

You should start bike and warm up before changing oil.Don't know how black new oil is but could just be from some residual oil that didn't drain if the bike is running good.10w40 is recommended. If this is a first and plugs are not fouling might want to start with a compression test.Make sure bike is standing up straight when checking oil have a friend sit on it to hold it straight while you look at the glass and know you put the right quanity in when changing.

How many cc's of engine oil with filter change does the bike hold

hi mate 1st run the bike till it gets warm this helps the oil become thinner so it drain the hole lot 2nd undo plug underneith engine 3rd replace oil plug once oil has drained 4th undo cover where oil filter is located 5th take oil filter out cleaning the housing it in 6th replace new filter and cover 7th undo filler cap and fill with oil and once the oil has reached 1/2 - 3/4 full on the oil sight glass located on side casing stop refilling and replace plug then start the bike for 2 mins and turn it off let the oil settle and check oil again if below 1/2-3/4 on the glass just top it back up a little good luck bud

Do I check the oil in my intruder 1400 resting on the kickstand?

Yes you do check the oil level when the bike is straight up and down to the ground. start the bike let it run for 3- 5 min shut it off. let it stand for 3-5 min get the bike is straight up and down. then check the motor oil level.
