Question about Harley Davidson Motorcycles
I have a 2006 Harley Dyna Glide Street Bob. A few days ago I was riding it, and then a red and yellow check engine light came on. Soon afterwards the engine gave a hard cough and a jerk only one time! I then took it home. It starts still okay, but I'm afraid to ride it, not knowing why those lights are on. A friend of mine advised me to check the oil level, and then the battery cables. Please HELP :)
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Relax...... Harley's all vent oil thru the air cleaner, actually, S & S does to, except they put a overflow valve so it drips on the road rather than the engine. Various little things can cause the oil flow to increase, and yes, over filling, over heating, and sometime, just running balls out for awhile.
Its normal, and shouldnt cause any problems more serious than oil mist on yer engine ( and sometimes passenger)

hi, if you have not yet fixed the problem , the fuse box is located underneath the left sidecover in front of the left sattlebag youll need to remove the bag to get the side cover off ck the fuses thats all it should be ,prolly what happened was a bulb went bad and shorted the circut blowing the fuse for them theyre on the same fuse as the tach and speedo

You charged the battery off of the battery charger with a trickle charge. The battery wouldn't charge while you're riding, because your alternator took a cr@p.
(Sorry if I seem gruff, but I'm an old biker, and Harleys are all I ride. I'm also a Harley mechanic.
Shhhh! I don't want that to get around! lol!)
3.Battery is at 13.4 volts now? What is the specific gravity of the acid in each cell? Don't have a hydrometer? Do you have a load tester? No? Since you measured the voltage, do you have a multimeter?
Test the voltage with the bike running. It should be around 14.6 volts when charging, less with the battery fully charged.
Don't get the correct reading, then you better look at alternator replacement. (Regulator is built in)

start of breaking down of HT coil, if breaksdown while warm, leave for a while and start back up, it's HT coil, sounds like you should just carry on and see if it gets worse, then you'll know. unusual for a sudden complete breakdown so you shouldn't be stranded.

Check the oil level. Sounds like you have over filled. Eventually you will blow the fork seals. Also could be caused by aspirated oil. Did you bleed the forks when you put the new oil in? What you are experiencing is called packing, or ramping. Real common problem with suspension tha has air in the system, low or high oil level, oil that is too thick or thin. Service them again. When you pull the fork caps off, look to see if the oil is foamy. Good luck.
