Hi ive just had my 650 repaired at a huge cost and ive been reading up on servicing times. I was wondering if you could shed some light on the situation i.e when to service and what to service thanx tom

Absolute number one priority is change the oil as often as you can afford especially for MX or Road trail four stokes. Every 4 - 8 hours ride time would not be excessive and if is a race bike then every or at least every second race meet should be full of brand new oil.
this will increase engine life and decrease engine wear an enormous amount!
Ps change the oil filter/s every 2nd or 3rd oil change
with the oil Your clutch rely on it - Your cams rely on it - Your transmission rely on it - your crank rely on it
2nd priority is clean air filter if your mainly road use then not so often but if your off road then same as oil. Change as often or clean as often as possible
The rest such as head gaskets, piston / rings, valves and clearances, spark plugs, clutch plates/springs - Really no way to tell all depends how hard you ride just address or investigate when power loss or hard starting occurs
But I guaranty all the above will last heaps longer on clean oil and air

I have purchased a new Honda Activa (deluxe) 25 days back. Its first service is due as it has run 520 km. I am residing at Hisar (Haryana). Please tell me the authorised dealer for servicing as Chaudhary...

Please go to the Honda web site and use the locate dealer tool ... http://powersports.honda.com/street.aspx

This may not take you to the Honda dealers in your country ... if that happens ... google 'Honda Motorcycle' and look for a dealer in your country. You are in India? (I am on the East Coast of USA)

For Pulsar's Best Performance??????

You are rightly going, go ahead and take precaution to keep constant speed. After 2000Km you can run for getting optimum milieage from it.
I had used to run Pulsar and Unicorn and served 3 years in Honda Service Department.
Avoid much using break and over gear transmission will also help you in maintainging a good mileage.
Thanks

Buyinf question/maintance costs

All bikes are expensive to service. The Legend is easy to work on so buy a Haynes manual and order OEM parts from dealers or Bike Bandit. You might have an ignition coil or fork seal to go bad. I've had my Legend for 9 years and have had one of each. Every 2 years change the hydraulic fluid for the brakes and clutch. If you use fully synthetic oil in the engine it will last 6,000 miles or 1 year as will the oil filter. Replacing spark plugs is difficult but they last a long, long time. Valves are shim type and rarely need to be reshimmed. If you replace the front sprocket you will need a new gasket for the sprocket cover. Trust me on that. Good luck and ride safe.
