Can move shift lever in and out of all gears without clutch. there were no noises. I had the car in N tried to put it in 1st gear to drive and it wont engage. while checking the car out after I noticed the transmission plug was loose, and there was little to no fluid in the transmission. also there was trans fluid sprayed everywhere.. Nothing smells burned.. Could this be the transmission wire binding?? HELP PLEASE!!
My first question is - have you had the trans filled with fluid ?
If the fluid level is now normal, and you can't shift the gears, you may have damaged the main shaft inside the trans.

sounds like bad clutches in trans...tranny shop needed...takes 4 qts for a filter change and remember to check it when the vehicle is warm and in park running.

maybe has a broken linkage or the bolt came lose.
Check if you can engage hall the gears pushing the linkage by hand,engine ranning and same one pressing the clutch!that way you can have same idea wath is wrong?!

Is this FWD? Maybe check the shift cable.

You sould have been moore frequent on your transmission fluid changes, and you shouldn't have taken it to Jiffy Lube either. Your best bet is to drain and fill the trans fluid run it shift gears. Drain and fill again. Do this 3 times. Yeah the transmission fluid is expensive. on the last drain and fill you want to get a bottle of LUBE GUARD from NAPA or who ever sells it. put the whole 10oz bottle in. Shift Rev, 1, 2, 3, D. Neutral Rev D. If that don't work then you have bad seals.

It sound like the gear linkage isn,t set up right, you wouldn,t always be able to engage a gear unless you rocked the car.
