Question about Harley Davidson XL 1200 C Sportster Custom Motorcycles
Washed it changed battery in fob sprayed metho in all connections light comes on then goes out a few seconds later comes back on was running badly but is ok after putting in pin # just need to cancel light out without spending $$$
Check, record and then clear the error codes. Then check later and see if they came back again. If error codes come back it is a good indication that there is really something wrong with the part of the bike that the error code points too.

SOURCE: engine management light
I had the same problem when i fitted a racing chip, the engine management light came on when i reconnected the battery, the workshop manual says there is 2 reasons for this 1 is a fault has been detected and if it is not logged in the memory idle the engine until the auto fan starts then switch off and allow a full shutdown of the electrical system, then restart. If this does not work then the fault has been logged in the memory and only the agents can remove this with the diagnostic tool.

SOURCE: Engine Check Light on
I disconnected the battery, pulled the maxi fuse and 15amp ecm fuse. I waited a while and put the fuses back in and connected the battery and it was cleared.

SOURCE: Won't idle without choke
The pilot jet controls the air/gas fuel mix at idle . If the jet gets plugged up not enough gas gets to the emgine at idle. You will need to remove the carbs and float bowls and clean them, paying special attention to the pilot valve. Count the number of turns to remove the pilot screw and replace the same number of turns then turn counter clockwise 1/2 turn.
A “very helpful” rating for this answer? Thanks!

Have been fighting this problem for 2 weeks .It happened when the bike feel over to the right in the garage. I called Kawasaki and this is what they said .A lot of V-twins get and air lock in the oil system when tipped over. Slide an oil pan under the bike. Then disable the ignition system. spin open the oil filter and crank the engine over until good flow is acheived and slowly spin oil filter shut and oil pressure should come up and all the lights go out. I hope this helps.
