I got on my 2007 m50 to go for a ride ,turned the key and get nothing ,fuses sre good

Is the battery good? Try the headlight while you crank the engine (I don't know what an m50 is so...) If the headlight goes dim or out when you crank, the battery is shot, has a bad ground, or connection to the starter. The starter relay, ignition circuit to the relay etc. could be faulty. Pull on the wires while you crank, sometimes that helps identify the problem.

2004 touareg steering defective workshop on screen my scaner will not comunicate will not start or crank.can anyone help?thanks

start with the battery if it won't crank. turn headlights on and try cranking. If headlights r bright then go very dim when cranking chk batt terminals. If headlights r dim before crank, chg or replace batt.

turn on the headlights and try to crank the engine; if the lights dim out while you try to crank, then the starter is ok but the battery is too weak. just turning on the lights does not mean that the battery has enough juice to crank the engine; a starter pulls a lot more than lights. If the headlights do not dim out and it still won't crank, then the starter or a connection to the starter is your problem.

No power to car, headlights have power, will not turnover or crank.

No battery puts out 13.6 volts static

You may get 12.9 or 13.01 if it is completely dead

You get over 14 volts running- alternator output

Turning over & cranking is the same thing

My ford windstar2000 will not crank, theft light blinks

turn your headlight on and have someone keep an eye on the headlights while you crank the engine. if the lights get real dim, your battery is too weak to turn the starter. auto zone charges batteries free.

I have 1983 Yamaha Virago XV750K. The headlight comes on when the key is turned on. The headlight goes off after the bike is started and running. ???

Yamaha used a starter switch with 2 sets of contacts on many models.
One set opens to shut off the headlight (conserving battery power for cranking) the other closes to energize starter motor.
Problem is the switch gets sticky....so releasing it stops starter, but the headlight doesn't come back on after startiing.
key off, spray some WD40 around the button to get it inside, and work the button in and out...slide your thumb off to let it snap out.
Retry with key on to see if headlight now returns after cranking.

Unable to start but lights came on battery is said to not be the problem then tried module but states a new battery was put in because it wont hold the charge still do not know what the problems is

sounds like a bad starter, test for power with a testlight, have someone crank the engine while you check for power at starter , the small wire should have power when key is in start position. if theres power then replace starter, hope this helps good luck.

Car will start lights, radio, etc, but engine

Try this:

Turn ON headlights and try to crank...

1. Headlights turn off completely means that the battery terminals need cleaning. Remove cables and clean clamps and posts.
2. Headlights have a noticable dimming means that the starter needs to be replaced.
3. No change in brightness. The headlights stay on, meand the starter solenoid needs replacing.

Sometimes when i try to crank my car it drags or clicks.but car shows 14.3 volts help

Do this. Turn on your headlights and someone crank the engine. If your headlights dim, Your batt is bad. If they go out, you have a bad cabatt cable connection. Remove, clean and reinstall ensuring a good connection......Good luck
