Most of the time vehicles are programmed ti do that every certain amount if miles because that is about the time you are supposed to refill and check everything on the bike, and most of the time they want you to bring it in and get everything checked by a "licensed" mechanic

SOURCE: engine management light

I had the same problem when i fitted a racing chip, the engine management light came on when i reconnected the battery, the workshop manual says there is 2 reasons for this 1 is a fault has been detected and if it is not logged in the memory idle the engine until the auto fan starts then switch off and allow a full shutdown of the electrical system, then restart. If this does not work then the fault has been logged in the memory and only the agents can remove this with the diagnostic tool.

SOURCE: 1998 Triumph Daytona T595,Batt died now Check Engine is on.

ok, first off is that when you "jump a bike" dont jump by car with engine running this can fry major componets second you can try the reboot but I do think you damaged one of the parts

2008 Triumph Street Triple won't start

Hi, Cbitt331 before testing any electrical component in the Starting System it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage, the battery is faulty and must be replaced. AGM type batteries fall into this scenario more so than lead acid batteries.
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter.
4. Bank angle sensor needs a reset or is faulty.
5. FOB battery low or dead.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Faulty kickstand, clutch, neutral safety switch.
9. Security alarm needs a reset.
10. Starter relay, solenoid, starter have failed or circuit wiring faulty.
11. Starter armature or field coils have failed.
12. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
13. The electric starter is working but starter clutch has failed.
14. Check for engine trouble codes.

My 2009 triumph daytona 675 had some melting from the voltage regulator!!! nasty tar like residue all down the bike, so took fairing of and bought a used voltage regulator, turn ignition on and all lights...

Hi,
Its possible the ignition module has failed caused from the over voltage supply when the voltage regulator overheated.
Have the ignition checked for spark, if this is ok then it has to be a fuel delivery problem which unfortunately could be the ECU.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Jason

Hi, Danne_strobe for this situation I would call or visit my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. I would gamble a $100 diagnostic test first.
