Yes. Once you remove the engine cover and expose the shaft and seal, carefully pry the old seal out with a small flat blade screwdriver. Apply some grease to the inside diameter of the new seal, slide it over the shift shaft (clean it first) - and press it in place.

Kickstart spring not reinstalled correctly and/or ratchet guid plate not reinstalled correctly,have to disassemble and try again.

SOURCE: i have a 2004 CRF 450R and im replacing the front seals. but i cant figure out if i have to put oil in the inner chamber as well as the outter or do i just put the 14oz in the outter camber and then i
