The usual place for Vin numbers is along the head stock. Chassis at the front of the Fuel Tank.
Where the handlebars are mounted this is called top yolk, which is mounted to the fork Triple tree,(Shaft that goes up the HEADSTOCK)
It is behind your headlamp area around where the fuel tank is.
Imagine! If you were to take the forks off the fuel tank off and then stand back and look at the frame it is the area from photo supplied where the nose cone is.
I do hope I've given you directions to the numbers as it is very difficult trying to describe without pointing it out in front of you not being there.
I'm sure you'll find it Ed!
Good luck,

The 8th digit of your Vin #

It is a letter & you can go to wix filters,
or I do,& look up the engine size

The Vin # is on your reg & ins card also

I'm suprised so many people don't know about all
the info on a Vin # & if you look on your door pillar
there is even more info,of coarse you need the shop
manual to break that down

Almost all motors or somewhere on the outside of most
vehicles, seem to display the engine size

I would prefer a clean painted surface & no chrome or
engine liters or model numbers,it junks up a car & has
always seemed silly to me,nobody cares, were not in
the 1960's when someone wanted to race you

I have a seat leon 03, and i'd need the exact colour code, but i didn't get the owners manual from the prev. owner. Where else can i find the colour code?

Colour code is normally on a plaque beside the bonnet release mechanism under the bonnet. If there are two plaques one is for the car chassis number (VIN), make + model, the other is for trim specification and colour. Make a complete note of everything and most auto paint shops will pick out the four figure code to look for. Alternatively, phone up Seat parts department and quote them the VIN chassis number and simply ask them for the paint code, they will have all the details of every car ever made by VAG on their computer records.

I'm russian. I've got Ford Escape XLT 2005 v6 3.0 and I can't find engine sequence/engine number/or product sequence number on the engine. Please, help me to find it.

we have the same problem here in spain with american built vehicles ,When i come to do the paperwork and their is no engine number and the spanish authorities insist on numbers on everything and three copies of it all with stamps on.So when i get a crysler gran voyager or ford mercury with no chassis number stamped in the actual chassis ,just a silly plate in the dash which means nothing here .I do a bit of doctoring before the vehicle goes for its mechanical inspection and they evan measure it for height and width and length and they look for the stamped chassis number which on all american vehicles i take to the test and they are always in the same place .Drivers side on top of suspension ,and engine number stamped on a nice area of the block, thats accessable ,if no engine number exists then use the last 6 numbers of the chassis number .----know what i mean

Are the VIN number and chasis number on the vehicle the same? If not, where can i find the chasis number on Hyundai tucson?

Short answer is no.
The VIN number is usually on a small plate attached to main chassis, often on the side of the bike.
The Chassis number is usually found stamped/etched into the chassis on or around the steering pipe (the forward most point of the actual chassis frame). This can be hard to see but it should be there.
The Engine number is often found stamped/etched into the top of the bottom end of the engine, Sometimes near the oil cap.
