SOURCE: will not start

This may sound silly, do you have gas in the tank? Is the fuel valve turned on? Is the kill switch in the RUN position? Doubble check these items.

SOURCE: my yzf r1 2005 shut off while I was riding it. It will not start back up?

yup, your starter is gone
something with the solenoid
since it's clicking it engages and disengages
hold-in windings....?

but then again, the clicking could also be caused by low battery

this happened to me one time, but bike started up no problem....

The colour code should be on the frame, usually under the seat.To find a supplier, just use a search engine and find a distributor locally. Or order it online.

Hi, Jonatan after careful deliberation 4 out 5 Yamaha Gods give this one a thumbs up, but just to be on the safe side you should give your local dealer's parts/service department a call to confirm. I have a 2005 yzf r 1 when I put the key in everything powers up when I push the start button nothing happens no starter noise nothing

Hi, Tom and the usual suspects are:
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Discharged battery, needs to be 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
4. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
5. Tip over sensor needs a reset.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Faulty kickstand or clutch pull in switch/sensor.
9. Starter control circuit, relay, or solenoid faulty.
10. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
11. Check for engine trouble codes.

Your starter solenoid is shorted by something or stuck in the start position. Try tapping it if you see no wires shorting it closed. they usually break free pretty easily.

05 R1 battery fully charged wont start. make a click buzz sound then resets itself no trouble codes. all lights and equipment works. can be push started

Faulty start solenoid? Check the starter sice of this electric switch with the power on and the start switch depressed. If you have no voltage at this point, the solenoid is suspect. If you have power and no start ... jump power directly to the starter to see if it will run.
