Replaceing chrome around gauges
Take the yellow tape that comes with the trim and throw it in the trash. Put 3 small dabs of RTV sealant on the inside of the trim. Place the trim on the gauge and hold for few seconds. Wipe off any access silicone. Let dry overnight.

The only idea that i can come up with is that you dont have a good ground..or the guage was bad when you bought it..i hope this..Keith

Depending on the bike.. On all the "easiest" thing to do is drop the front wheel, remove the 4 bolts holding the fender on. Watch out for the sheet metal tabs that lock the bolts in place. Now depending on the model you may have a light on the front of your fender, you will have the joy of disconnecting it first. Hope this helps.
