You have to replace the Valve cover gasket. Inside the spark plug hole, midway down is a gasket, every spark plug hole has them, you cant see it because its, well a gasket pressed against two very tight suface every spark plug hole, When these leak they fil up the sprkplug cavity, as you know. Go to a parts store, spend $30 dollars on a VALVE COVER GASKET SET. If reparied properly wiil be a 100% fix. If it's a 4 cylinder honda,, a monkey with downs syndrom could do this in five minutes. V6 accord, save yourself the time, grief and heart ache, and take it to a Professional.

SOURCE: oil around spark plugs on 1992 honda accord

Yes the oil can cause the car to lose spark, the oil leak could be caused by the valve cover gaskets around the spark openings, but 9 times out of 10 it is the spark plug tube "O" rings. The top of the valve train comes off of the head, the "O" rings are between the two halves, that will fix the oil leak.

If oil is around the spark plug is the ok to change the plugs still.

best thing to do is clean around the plug with maybe paper towel or blow with air before removing the plug a lil oil wont hurt but the dirt in it may scorn ur valves. good luck

Oil on spark plugs?

Hi. If you mean oil is around the top of the plug (the porcelian and hexigan part the plug)
This is usually the gasket between rocker cover and cylinder head.
I think on the honda its a rubber gasket/seal
I hope this helps you and it should not be to exspensive
Good luck John ( South Wales UK)

I have a 92 Honda Accord, what causes oil around the spark plug. and how do I fix it. Would it also mke the vehicle run bad?

1. Worn or broken rings on that cylinder
2. Valve guides or seals worn on that cylinder
3. To fix the rings you will have to remove the head and sump (Remove the motor from the car if you cannot remove the sump with it in the car)
4. Yes it will make your car run bad

Spark plug well filling with oil.

a new valve cover gasket and o-rings around the wells should have cured this...did you clean the old o-rings off the valve cover completely before installing new ones? this is a common problem with these models.....i would re-check my gaskets and mateing surfaces. valve cover gaskets and spark plug well o-rings are relatively low cost. the spark plug is tight, correct? write back with an update!
