1982 suzuki gsx 250 not revving over 5000rpm

Trying to repair a friends gsx250
it has been having a problem revving consistently and smoothly over 5000rpm. i have heard this is a problem this model can have. something to do with the carbies, vacum operated, ive heard this is a possible cause, a bypass valve im not sure what??
we pulled apart one carbie all seemed well inside, daifram looked good with no holes after putting back together the bike ran properly for about 20kilometers, before stalling and having the revving problems again..

any detailed information would be much appreciated...

thanks for the info, i have previously pulled one of the carbies apart
the diafram or rubber seal inside was in cood condition, the other carbie has a screw the is un accesible with out pulling other parts off so as yet havent dismantled.
after putting carbie back together the bike ran well for a short while before continuing to play up

Usually when surging like that happens there is a vacuum leak where the carbs are attached to the heads check the rubber rings that hold the carbs on to see if they are cracked if so then replace them and that should solve your problem

May I suggest a trip to your local library. Cycle repair books should be in 646 stacks of reference.
Of course, you could google Clymer Service manuals online, or swing by your local bike shop for one.

97 gixxer 750, will not start. Starts fill with

Your charger should be putting out 13.0-14.5 volts to keep the battery charged. Otherwise its running off the stator sometimes and the battery at other times depleating the battery. The voltage regulator could be bad or the stator could be bad. try swapping the volt regulator first and start from there. Also a battery that has been depleted should be sufficiently recharged before using it again.

I did some searching and here is a link that might help you get what you need. These are some GSXR 250 manuals.

Just copy the link and you will see what I was able to find. Best of luck. If this is not what you are looking for and Robotec does not find what you need let me know because I have a friend that works for the Suzuki R&D department and I can ask him if he can get the OEM manual for you.
