Don't worry about the air-fuel mixture. It doesn't need to get adjusted.

SOURCE: I have a 1980 enticer

Add an extra ground wire to your coil. If the rubber on the bottom of the choke plunger is not sealing properly you may have to replace it. Be sure your carburetor jets are clean and the intake manifold is in good condition with no cracks or leaks on the gaskets or rubber.
Now the bad news, because of the age of your machine I believe the bogg you describe is caused by an air leak in the crankshaft end seals. Usually the clutch end seal. I would pull the motor out , split the cases , and replace all the gaskets and seals. You should be able to get an aftermarket gasket kit with seals for around $30 . Resealing the crankshaft will keep your motor running for another thirty years.

SOURCE: 1999 ZRX,,,cleaned carbs, started it,

When you cleaned the carbs was the idle too high or too low before the adjustment? I suppose a better place to start is when you cleaned the carbs, did you clean the fuel lines and flush the tank? If the carbs were fouled, you can be pretty sure the line and tank have crud in them as well. It could very well be that some of that crud made its way back into your carbs.
