How to start floded engine 1998 ford f150 truck 4.2 engine

The (TPS) throttle position sensor realizes there is a flooded condition when the operator presses the pedal to the (WOT) wide open throttle position. However, the usual cause is a bad TPS. Replace the TPS, not a difficult job two screws and an electrical plug.

Setting idle

If you have carbs:

http://www.bikebandit.com/2005-suzuki-boulevard-c90-vl1500-carburetor/o/m147639sch503698

Part #60 adjusts both carbs' idle speed evenly.

If you have throttle bodies:

http://www.bikebandit.com/2005-suzuki-boulevard-c90-vl1500-throttle-body/o/m147639sch506971

Part # 14 should adjust the idle speed on both.

How do I set the timming on a 1400 Nissan sentra 1998 model

This is for a 1998 nissan sentra 1.4 engine, start engine and allow to reach operating temp.then turn engine off and disconnect throtle postion sensor connector.

With tps sensor disconnected start engine and increase idle to 2000 rpm three times then release and allow it to idle.

now check timing, timing should be at 6-10 degrees BTDC. adjust as needed then turn key off and reconnect tps .

Where is the tps on a 1998 plymouth voyager

The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) is mounted to the side of the throttle body and connects to the throttle blade shaft. The TPS is a variable resistor that provides the PCM with an input signal (voltage).

I need to set the RPM a bit higher can it be done manually or is it set electronically.

Check the parts on the airhorn behind all the airfilter ductwork. On one side you will have a TPS switch. It has 2 screws and 1 electric plug. If you take it off for a second you can see if there is a elongnated slot for 1 screw. This will raise the RPM slightly by adjusting the TPS in that elongnated slot.

On the other side of the airhorn there is a stubborn set screw. It butts up to the throttle cable. This will adjust the RPM beyond the range of the TPS base idle. So to answer your inquiry the TPS can be manually adjusted to electrically raise RPM, the stubborn set screw can manually be adjusted to raise RPM.

1998 Dodge Ram 4X4 Quad 5.9L Auto. When accelerating slowly, shift fine until up to a cruizing speed, then keeps shifting up & down like into/out of a passing gear. Going up hill under a slight load...

Mr. dodge ram, with the 46re trans the pcm needs a signal from the tps sensor to monitor throtlle opening, accel and decel, what has happened the tps has a worn out spot in cruise area, hence the down shift, uphill is fine because your past the worn out spot, replace your tps sensor, its mount on left side of throtlle body , 2 screws, 1 connecter, and its out, when done turn key on, eng off, step on gas pedal 6 times slowly, then turn off key, this will help set min tps setting, GOOD LUCK RDJRP
