SOURCE: fzr 600 got killer spark pulls fuel valves in

This is not the news you probably want to hear but backfiring thru the carbs when you have good spark can be one of 2 things... either the valves are sticking / not closing properly due to carbon or the cam timing has shifted from the original position.

It would be best to do a compression test. You should have a minimum of 100 PSIG for an engine with major problems and up to 150 for a healthy engine. If you can not get 100 PSIG then it will be time for some serious engine service.

There is a possibility of the kill switch wire in the handle bar grip grounding under the grip to the handlebar but, since you said you have killer spark I doubt this is your problem.

Thanks for using FixYa.

6.8 V10 hard to start and backfires once I got it to start fuel pressure was 87psi at idle no codes im suspecting fuel pressure regulator?? Any ideas?

If its the fuel system it should not backfire. It could be out of time synchronous (ignition - crank sensor - belt). becareful!!! you could hurt it if you try to start it to many times.

Won't start after sitting for a few days

Could be loosing fuel pressure thru the pressure regulator or the valve in the fuel pump. The pressure should hold for several days when the engine is off.
I would have the fuel pressure tested before and after you try to start the engine.

My 98 deville tries to start but backfires and wont start.tried starting fluid no go.just backfires.can u help?

Check your fuel pressure, and your spark. If you have good fuel pressure and spark, then it's probably something to do with either your ECM, ICM, or timing gear set. Autozone and O'Reilly's have a fuel pressure gauge that you can put a deposit on to use it. You can ask either if they can test your specific ICM, ECM.

Lennox pulse ignites once & then cycles a few times & lock out

this indicates a temp limit switch or failure to exaust correctly, built in safety, service tech will need to fix as parts are generally not available to public. thank you and good luck..make sure your filter is clean as this can generate temperature excess for high temperature switch
