Wiring hook up

Hi, Anonymous you have a dead short which is usually the easiest to find. Using a test light connected to the hot side of the blown fuse holder, start probing the wire leaving the fuse holder about an inch away the test light should illuminate, keep probing towards the ignition switch until the test light no longer illuminates you are now very close to the short. For more information about your issue and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need please click on the links below. Good luck and have a nice day.

How to wire the headlight directly to the battery

firstly, you shouldnt, but if you must, go to autozone or equiv. and get a fuse holder, a fuse, a on/off switch and some wire(the thicker the better as hedlights draw a good ammount of current. whne wiring, put the fuse holder close to the battery in sequence with the positive wire, then to the switch you should mount on the handlebars, then to the light itself. for the ground you can just find a good ground on the frame as close to the light as fisable. hope that helps.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

The description "...wont come on at all. it is as if the battery is not..." would indicate no electrical power, no lights even when switched on. Have you checked the main fuse along the red wire?

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

check the starter, smack the side with a hammer while holdin the start button sometimes the solenoid gets stuck... dont wail on it, just a nice few hits with a dead blow hammer....if it works your starter solenoid is going if it doesnt it could already be shot.... good luck.

Tt500 wireing

I have edited the picture to show what to do.
  1. The power wire from the generator is wired to the points wire.
  2. The points wire and generator wire are wire to the coil +
  3. The coil is frame grounded when mounted.

Note:You may need to try each of the 2 wires from the generator(try one and if it doesn't run or run right, try the other wire,Since the energize at different times)
