Test the coil. Using a DVOM (Digital Volt Ohm Meter) , check the resistance of the primary winding of your coil. Disconnect the wires from the small wire connections on your coil. Put one meter lead of your meter on each small terminal. It makes no difference which lead go which connector. Put the meter in OHMS< R X 1. You should read 3 to 4 ohms of resistance.

Another way to test the coil is run a power wire straight to one side of the coil. One the other side, connect a straight wire. Turn the power on to the coil and the momentarily ground the stright wire on the other side of the coil. When you take the wire away from ground, you should see a spark at the spark plug.

If your coil test good and you have power on the coil when you turn the switch on, your problem is the sensor plate in the timing cavity or something to do with a security system.

Did you change the sensor in the timer cavity on the right side of the engine? It's behind the round plate on the cam chest cover. If still original, there are two rivets holding the cover on. Carefully drill the heads off the rivets. Do not drill any deeper than that. Once the plate comes off, you'll see the Hall effect sensor in the cavity. Mark the plate and the inside of the timer cavity so that you can remove the old plate and get a new sensor in the cavity in EXACTLY the same position. There is a plug underneath the engine that you will have to take the wires out of to get them out of the small hole. DO NOT USE STANDARD POP RIVETS TO SECURE THE PLATE BACK OVER THE TIMER CAVITY HOLE. These are special rivets that you can get from you dealership. Or, you can put an aftermarket plate that uses screws instead of rivets in the holes.

Good Luck

Can I bypass my lean angle sensor on a pan ST 1100. My bike cuts out if I park on the side stand at about 50-55 degrees and then It wont start without a push.

Hi, Lordfrancis you can rewire depending on the sensor circuitry whether it's open or closed you may need to splice in a resistor/diode to fool the ECM. Hello, i made a small accident with my cbr 1000rr

bank angle sensor.... Do you mean crank angle sensor?? you CAN'T bypass that. The ignition won't fire without it. By a new one, and hope that connecting wires that you shouldn't have connected didn't fry your ECU. You should change anything that was damaged first and verify that what you fixed is really fixed and working. Only after that would a having the fuel pump not working be an issue to worry about.

I am fitting a race fairing to my 2001 FS-1. How

You cannot bypass them. The ECU will malfunction if it does not detect them. You just have to tie wrap them on somewhere and make a base out of aluminum plates to fit the angle sensor horizontally.
