You need to adjust the clutch, you may have to much free play, this causes the clutch to stay slightly engaged even with the handle is pulled all the way back. Another issue is did you use the correct engine oil, to heavy a oil will cause clutch stack drag.

It appears the you have a clutch pressure plate problem in that it is slipping and overheating to fade condition. Check for oil level as most bike clutches run in oil. Check clutch cable adjustment. Check cable for kinks and split wires.

look for grooves or dents in the clutch basket, that would be holding the disks apart, also make sure the disks all face the same way out.

Yamaha Enduro Clutch not engaging

i actuall have a yamaha enduro 100 and had this same problem.
First thing is take the clutch apart take all the rings out and clean them good with momry cloth assemble the clutch compleatly as it came out and when tighting the springs tight them all one turn at a time and after everytime you go around try to move youre clutch with youre bike in gear. if it trys to move it is engageing just keep turning the screws untill they stop. also recomend putting threadlocker on the drive gear bolt and the clutch bolt that holds the clutch on. if you have and questions just e-mail me at Jvossbrink@comcast.net just make shure to tell me that i responded to youre fixya question about youre bike and i will walk you threw it.

ps just rember to put the clutch pushrod back in

92 yamaha fzr 600r clutch lever sticks and clutch slips

Sounds like the bike has been doing wheeles and burnouts. As the clutch plates wear the cable needs adjusting. You have reached the end of the actuating cam. New plates are your best bet.

Clutch problem?

ya used the wrong oil in the gear box, the clutch is slipping, to fix thhis it could be as easy as proper oil replacement in the gearbox or as bad as new clutches, the oil you use in a bike is VERY important as some cause clutches to slip and others to grab depending on the weight.
